    Perlick Tab and PBW

Is there any part of the perlick tap that can't go in a PBW soak? I just got a couple for cheap from a closing brewery...they are pretty dried up...I'm going to buy a seal kit for them but they need a good cleaning. Can I just dump them all in a bowl of PBW - disassembled?

Cheapest way to get a Kegerator/Keezer

Yep just picnic for now. I'm only looking to cool 2 ball locks and if I can fit it the 5lb co2 (which has the 3 gauge regulator so I can serve and carb at the same time.

Cheapest way to get a Kegerator/Keezer

If I used one of the 5 cubic ft chest freezers could I fit 2 ball locks and the co2 in there without a collar?

Cheapest way to get a Kegerator/Keezer

So I had one of those mini fridges with the metal plate "freezer" in them - Saw a few people that bent the plate down and converted that to hold 2 corny's...yeah didn't work for me. So now with brew day around the corner I need to find a kegerator. Here's my predicament... I don't have a...

    Morebeer's Pliny the Elder

I like that stinky feet off flavor...haha. Right I have the HOP bag from Wilser.

    Morebeer's Pliny the Elder

I didn't want to dry hop in the keg - less cleaning later, I've seen dry hop clog the dip tubes, etc. Figured I'd just throw it in a sock for the last 7 days. My Plan look OK - plan is on the linked thread above from Carolina_Matt

Official Pliny Recipe Kit from Russian River

So I just got this kit too - only one of them however (Did you do a 10 gallon batch?)...and was wondering if you had any tips/advice? My plan is as follows - I'm doing BIAB... 1) Heat water appropriately high enough to mash at 152f for 60 min 2) Mash out at 168f for 10 min (not sure if this is...

    Morebeer's Pliny the Elder

Anyone done this kit BIAB? I have it on order, but wondered if anyone wanted to give me any pointers or specifics that the instructions don't call out? https://www.morebeer.com/products/russian-rivers-pliny-elder-grain-beer-brewing-kit-5-gallons.html

    Reuse Cleaner solution?

No I wasn’t going to save it, but a 3 gallon batch should be able to clean 2-3 kegs after a hot pre rinse...I’m thinking?

    Reuse Cleaner solution?

When you clean your kegs (I use pbw) can you reuse the solution a couple times? Say you have 3 kegs to clean...would this work?? 1) hot tap water rinse them all 2) 1/4 cup to 5gal hot water in keg #1 let sit for 1 hr. Shake a bit 3) connect beer side of keg #1 to gas side keg #2 4) pressurize...

    Random question-purging air from keg

Crap - ok not doing that.

    Random question-purging air from keg

Yep I think after reading all the opinions this is what I'm going to do...clean them, dry, seal up with say 10psi. I'd most likely clean and sanitize again when I go to fill them anyway - especially if its been siting for months.

    Random question-purging air from keg

I'm making the assumption (maybe incorrectly) that air has a bunch of impurities and may have contaminates that over time wouldn't be nice to leave inside trapped...for things to grow/eat. But if it only had CO2 that would be less likely to have villains in there over time. I don't know - I...

    Random question-purging air from keg

Typically open the top since I sanitize right before adding the beer.

    Random question-purging air from keg

I’m going to store a keg for a while empty. I read that cleaning it, let it dry and then seal it up with CO2 is a decent plan. My question is, about how many burps of the purge valve should be enough to get all the air out so the keg is all co2 and at what pressure should I store it?

    Kegglebrewing.com Review --- Kegs

i know right!...but still $55. So of course I'm going to do my own clean and sanitize since we don't allow that to be done by others. But I don't plan to brew for about 2 weeks then of course there's the fermentation period. Should I just swish some PBW in there and let it sit for a few hours...

    Kegglebrewing.com Review --- Kegs

Just wanted to leave a comment about review. I am new to the homebrew scene and was looking for kegs. I could find lots of places that sell ball lock kegs for much cheaper, but they all say they simply dump the kegs and many reviews read about dents and other issues. Now I don't expect a...
