    Controlling a kettle

What I am saying is there are levels of quality when it comes to Chinese crap, do your research, names like Watlow produce great high quality stuff for great prices on eBay.

    Controlling a kettle

With the exception of the element, yes. I would look at eBay for better components. Spend your money on more useful stuff like a temp controller that gives you a reading in F.

Valves Won't Open During Automation! Please Help!

Do you have a meter? Ring out the circuit. Verify voltage, verify the transformer is rated for the current draw. If you don't have to use connectors, don't, bypass them to troubleshoot.

3-in-1 "Boil Kettle, Jacketed Chiller, Conical Fermenter" by Brewha

Why would you whirlpool in a conical? It's a center drain with sloped sides, kinda defeats the purpose.

Solenoid not opening with utility pump

    Motorized ball valve.

Solenoid not opening with utility pump

You home water pressure is probably 50 psi or more, so your pump isn't delivering enough pressure.

Solenoid not opening with utility pump

Probably the other way around. Most solenoid valves have a minimum pressure to open. I would say your pump isn't meeting that requirement.

    discoloring Insulation in panel

As others have said, get a real crimper, use the correct size ring lugs, no spades. Try not to put more than one per screw terminal. Also make sure your contractors coils are correct voltage and type for what your using. Hopefully your not getting chatter. If you used cheap contractors, look at...

    Rapid Response Panel

I'm skeptical about the rapid part. If things are controlled with a DCS or PLC there are ways of using a stand alone PLC to do a sequence to shut down properly. This is what's done in the nuclear world.

    discoloring Insulation in panel

The problem is it isn't working. This failure mode doesn't happen unless there are errors in the wiring. Please for the love of God, if your going to use those crimp on connectors, use a name brand like Amp, and get a crimper that can apply the correct amount of force to properly crimp the...

    discoloring Insulation in panel

I know I sound like an ass, but these issues your having are scaring me. You need to reevaluate your wiring practice. If you can get rid of those crimp ons or get the proper crimpers that apply the correct amount of force. If your using these Throw them in the trash and get a real pair of...

    Possible bad SSR?

Yes but how valuable is your time and the aggravation and the what ifs? I'd rather spend a little more and spend my time and money on other things.

    Possible bad SSR?

Take a look at eBay for a Watlow Din a mite. Very good quality.
