The slots on mine have plenty of play to align them when the nuts are loose and I assume they use a jig to weld them but I am just guessing that is how they weld them on. Can you possibly drill out the slots on the leg with the issue to give it more play?

I got a therminator and used the Blichmann hop blocker with it at first and it would still get really slow with any beer that was mildly hopped. I tossed the hop blocker and just use hop bags now it all is well. So I really need to get off my ass and build a spider.

You don't aerate hot abouve 80 or you will risk oxidation.
