Are 5 Gallon commercial kegs ball or pin lock?

Sanke Tap to Homebrew Conversion Kit, with disconnects "D" Sanke Tap with MFL Tailpieces No affilliation, just nice pictures With the MFL tail pieces on the sanke coupler and flare fitting disconnects on the homebrew side, you can switch over fairly easily. A little more expensive but...

Dry Hopping in already tapped keg

I generally add 2 oz myself, left in the keg until it blows. I use a hose clamp on the underside of the lid, around the pressure relief valve and tie off there. I use glass marbles as weights, from dollar store.

Could I use this to make a mash tun??

Fly sparging generally requires a more elaborate system of draining, see Palmer's How to Brew about configuring the drainage if fly sparging.

Could I use this to make a mash tun??

That was like 19 lbs of grain with strike water, sorry about the American measuring system. That should be good for a 5 Gallon batch. If not big enough, you could add DME to boost the gravity. Just use the light DME and get all of your color and flavor from the specialty grains. This way you...

Could I use this to make a mash tun??

You can convert this cooler by drilling a hole near the bottom. The capacity of that cooler is 8.6 kg of grain + strike water. Please confirm my calc using http://www.rackers.org/calcs.shtml

    keg equipment question

You put the gas disconnect on the liquid or vise versa. Take a set of water pump plyers or a large adjustable wrench and open the jaws wide enough to get under the connector. Use the handle on the keg as a fulcrum and push down on the handle. Some times the connector will break but that usually...

So this is confusing to me....

1 system has a ball lock keg, the other has a pin lock. Different connectors at the keg. People that have modified mini-fridge kegerators like the pin locks for the short height. Most people try to stick with 1 type.

    Help with Nitrogen

Honestly, I don't have a good explanation, other than experience. It works on my system. I was looking at the draft manual and getting more confused. It is early in the a.m. I will have to look more into it.

    Help with Nitrogen

Bring it back to room temperature and pull the relief valve to degass. Only put enough head pressure to seal keg. Shake keg to degass. May want to do this outside or in sink because it will foam. http://sdcollins.home.mindspring.com/ForceCarbonation.html at 70 F, 10 psi is needed to get to 1.2...

    I'm Confused

The biggest problem with taps higher on a fridge door is with opening the freezer door, if the freezer is on top. Someone opens the freezer and bumps the taps open and beer is everywhere. Since it is a mini-fridge, just watch as to where things are when trying to clse the door, as you said.

    I'm Confused

I thought Weirdboy's answers were good. I will add to question 4 4) Make sure the manifold has check valves, whether you use MFL connectors or shutoffs. I use MFL connectors with no shutoff on my 7 tap keezer but that is personal choice. I would have a manifold that is as big as the # of kegs...

    why won't my keg dispense?

again you are saying that one of your perlick faucet is not pouring. I was just asking to clarify that it is a keg problem and not a faucet problem. I just want to be clear that faucet #4 pours correctly. With regards to depressing a poppet and having beer spray out, it does not take much...
