    ebay 3800w dimmer

    you could probably get a 3500 watt element and just plug it in to 220v and let it go for a rolling boil, i have a 5500 w element with a ssr and a controler and it cycles on and off due to the element being over sized.

    What spare parts do you keep on hand?

    i have been useing my electric brew pot for a couple years now and havent had any problems but i think in a pinch i would just use the breaker to turn it on and off till icould get parts.

    i have old ale that im trying to let age a stone IPA clone thats not bad its more like a light IPA and a sam adams boston lager clone that turned out to be 6.87% all on tap. i have in carboys strong scotch ale and dennys bourbon vanilla porter cant wit to try it.

    5500w ULD element taking too long to heat

    i have experimented with electric brewing and found the diameter of the boil pot makes a big difference i started with a sanke keg with a 5500 watt element, the problem with the keg is the diameter is to wide and the heat was not concentrated in the middle of the pot so the heat disapated faster...
