    How many batches before you bought a wort chiller?

    I bought my supplies from a gent on Craigslist and it included a home-made IC. I used it the first time. 15 minutes to cool to 68 degrees from boiling. 3 gallon boil.

    BAH! Never mind. I just finished browsing my search results and should have finished reading before I posted. It's highly likely that I just got a "light" sample from the wort/water mix. I'm just going to relax and leave it be.

    I brewed my first batch ever on Saturday. (yay!) An Alaskan Amber Ale clone from Apex Brew Wares. Long story short, when I tested the OG after topping it off in the fermentor I was 12 points short. :( (1.05 instead of the 1.062 target). It's been driving me nuts so I started reading here...

    Did my first batch this past weekend. Harder than the books make it out to be, but easier than I was afraid of! :) Filling the world with beer, 5 gallons at a time. If you're in the KC/Blue Springs area, hit me up. Love to bounce ideas around over a brew anytime.
