I'm brewing electric in my basement and so far i've used a diy squirrel cage fan to suck the moisure out. Now, that fan is dead and i'm broke. Do you guys think a cheap range hood would be sufficient ? It would be placed 6" above the kettle and 2 feet from the window. I know they dont suck...

I have 2 1500 watts elements in my keggle. Perfect for 5 gallons batches but no way you could boil 10 gallons with that. Do a search, there's a voltage calculator out there to determine what you need to boil x amount of liquid, it's an excel file...
