Why not more interest in 10 gallon batches?

+2000 I drink one beer a day maximum...because of all those reasons you mentioned. I can't understand people drinking 10g of beer by themselves ! I only brew 5g and i'm thinking about downscaling to 2.5-3 g

    Anyone willing to help ?

Well so far i've been crushing with my makita 18v li-ion but it takes two batteries for the batch and the drill gets very hot so i'm afraid of burning it. That's why i was looking for a low speed drill My other drill is a corded hammerhead but it spins way too fast

    Anyone willing to help ?

I tried ordering it online but there's no option to ship outside of the us hence my 3 phone calls to them. Amazon and free shipping does not exsit in canada ! Besides, i can't find this drill elsewhere. I know it's super cheap but i don't wanna pay 150-200$ for a makita/dewalt version. It's...

    Anyone willing to help ?

I'm trying to get my hands on a harbor freight drill. I called them 3 times to get a shipping quote to Canada and I still can't get an answer, lousy customer service. So...is anyone willing to ship one to my door in Canada ? I will obviously pay in advance for both shipping (but I want USPS...

    powering my mill !

Ok so i've got 2 drills for my mill and they're not strong enough to crush at low rpm. Is there a place besides harbor freight where I can get this drill : http://www.harborfreight.com/1-2-half-inch-variable-speed-reversible-d-handle-drill-47991.html I've called them twice to get a...

That's good news ! I'm buying one then. I guess placing a ball valve on the output of the pump is important to avoid compacting the grain when pumping the mlt ?

    planning my mini brewery

Hi folks, So far, I've been relying on gravity for all my beers and I'm planning an upgrade : a pump My goal is to use the pump for transfering wort from the mash tun to the kettle, and from the kettle to the fermenter. Is that possible ? I did some research about using a pump on a mash...

Valuable lesson learned about mash thickness

that's weird...i did an esb clone last friday using a 1 qt/lbs mash ratio for the 1st time too. My pre boil gravity was only 2 points below the estimated one beersmith gave me so I don't think it's the mash thickness that caused your problem no ?. I batch sparged with 2 water additions and...

    Ventilation dilema

I'm brewing electric in my basement and so far i've used a diy squirrel cage fan to suck the moisure out. Now, that fan is dead and i'm broke. Do you guys think a cheap range hood would be sufficient ? It would be placed 6" above the kettle and 2 feet from the window. I know they dont suck...

Would you want an 800L fermenter?

Even the 100L tank is huge for homebrewing...that's 26 gallons of beer !! I'm sure there are a few people here that brew huge batches like these though...

What can a 3kW element do?

I have 2 1500 watts elements in my keggle. Perfect for 5 gallons batches but no way you could boil 10 gallons with that. Do a search, there's a voltage calculator out there to determine what you need to boil x amount of liquid, it's an excel file...
