No. It is not a fruity flavor at all. Plus the first extract beer was fermented at >70 degrees. Cqn chloromine used by water disinfection plant cause these bad smells and flavors?

Only thing I can think of is perhaps my tap water. It is possible that those two times levels of disinfectant in the water were raised. I might have to get a water test kit.

2 row crystal 40 malt. 152 mash temp. 64 f fermentation. Two packets of dry yeast us-05 rehydrated. Og was around 1.063. Ctz bittering simcoe at 30 centennial at 15 10 5 0. Dry hopped with cenntenial. Fg was 1.012.

They are both IPAs. It is not hop flavors because I have used them before. The only thing I can say for sure is I can smell the off flavor as well as taste it. It easily cuts through the hop profile which was dry hopped heavily.

Hahaha I know it is sarcasm about the feetsies. Target OG was 1.065 but I only got to 1.062. Not bad. My strike water was 7 gallons and I "sparged" with 1 gallon of 170F when draining. I mashed at 152F then raised temp to 170F and drained/sparged. The boil was probably about 7 gallons.
