I drank a 27 y/o beer in Belgium. It was brewed for a grand opening of a fancy hotel in Ghent. The hotel went bust well before the beer.
It was unbelievable.
American Pale Ale with Cascade and Simcoe Hops - tastes damn good! Though, I made no fewer than ten mistakes in the process. This forum as been an invaluable source...especially for the easement of unfounded fears.

Blue Moon was and is a gateway beer for many people. At least it was for me. I can't imagine spending money on the stuff now, but it was my first "Belgian".
Glad I read this entertaining thread. I am about to brew my first batch, an American Pale Ale, and was flirting with the idea of adding a pound or so of sugar. Think I'll just follow my brew master's instructions. Cheers.
