What Breweries do you Like to visit in the Southeast

There are several mentioned in this recent thread https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f14/georgia-tennesee-trip-329669/

Has anyone ever bought a commercial beer this this much yeast?

I had a green flash IPA that looked about that bad. I didn't think much of it...drank it and lived. Never had another bad one, love their beers. The master brewer's response is a bit irresponsible, I agree.

    Glass versus better bottle

This is an enormous area of debate. Have you read the "This vs. That" sticky? If not, check it out. Breaks down the pros & cons of each. I'm a bucket/better bottle man myself. I can be a little clumsy - I always drink home brew while brewing + glass carboys = stitches.

I lied about my first beer

Same here, 75. I was so elated that I had actually made beer that I convinced myself it was better than it actually was, and it was actually awful. Have brewed about 10 batches over the past year and each one better than the last. Am very close to brewing beers that are on par with what I can...

Finally had my Craig's List day!

Good find. If not for craigslist I would not be able to afford this hobby. Found my keg (keggle build), freezer (ferm chamber), propane burner and a couple better bottles for cheap.

    Nvmd. I agree w pirat.

If only we could get rid of the big 3

If not fer the big 3 or 2 or whatever, the craft/home brew movement simply wouldn't exist. It is a cultural response to the pervasive. The US and A has the greatest beer culture in the world not in spite of BMC, but, because of BMC.

The Very Many Varieties of Beer

That poster is beautiful. Damn good designer. I want one. I want to make one - could easily translate into a screen print. If anyone knows the source of the image I would love inquire about copyrights.

    growing barley

I grew up on a farm in KS. My dad occasionally sewed barley, for market - not brewing of course. The crop has the same basic needs as wheat, though, you'd need to plant quite a bit to have any kind of yield. What kind of equipment do you have access to (tractor, planter, etc)?

Not to speak of. I find this is by far the most civil board I visit. Though, I may be jaded by NCAA sports boards...

What can be used as a Secondary?

Home Depot and Lowe's sell some smaller buckets - just make sure they're #2 plastic. You might look at a restaurant supply store - they usually sell various sizes. Good luck.

    travel to belgium

I've spent some time in Belgium- my advice would be to simply tour the cities (on foot) and visit the various pubs and bars, most of which will have an outstanding beer selection. They will all carry the standard Belgians; Chimay, Duvel, Westmalle, Orval, etc. But they'll also have regional...

What to do with a pony keg?

Cool, thanks. I was considering that, but wasn't sure about it. Need to find out how to remove the spear. Off to YouTube....

What to do with a pony keg?

The other day I bought 15 gal keg off a guy to start my keggle build and he gave me pony keg as well. It's 7.75 gal and I'm not sure what to do with it. My brew volume problems have been solved w/ the big keg, and I already have a 6 gal pot for smaller batches. I don't keg my beer, so i have no...
