    Vanilla beans in primary?

    Thanks Scinerd, Your comment sounds logic. I'll wait till fermentation is complete or at least it gets softer (more or less 7 days), put the beans inside, and live it two more weeks. You said that I should scrape the seeds but.... Should I throw them away or put them in the fermenter too...

    big beer with no secondary?

    Last batch I brewed a Belgian Triple. OG = 1075 I just let it sit in primary for 4 weeks, and I will let it rest in bottles for 2 months. It would have been great that I had brewed this two months earlier so now I could give you the results of what I did, but I must wait till mid August...

    Vanilla beans in primary?

    I'm planning to brew a Vanilla Stout this weekend, and I don't use a secondary so I thought about putting 2 vanilla beans in primary after 5 or 6 days and leave it for three weeks. Do you think it will be a risk of contamination? or maybe... Would it be better to boil the 2 vanilla beans...

    Thanks Conroe, As everybody who answered my question agree :cross: I will forget about the Irish Moss and increase the amount of Roasted Barley. I will brew this in six days, so if someone can give another opinion about both recepies I will thank it a lot. :mug:

    Thanks a lot Poindexter, I've never used a secondary, but after this experience with big beers I ordered a secondary last week, it will take one week more to arrive. The point with all this is that I have a Brewing-Plannig with my SWMBO and a couple of friends so we don´t have to Buy Beer...

    Shelf Life of Guinness

    I have 80 bottles of Guinness in wich I bottle one batch every two months, quite easy to get the widget out with my Leatherman ¿pruners? (don´t know the exact word in English). The bottle is really nice and has a slight curve in the bottom wich makes it much easier to leave the yeast in it...
