Pipe came! Chip carved pipe with a Winchester 12 gauge shot shell for the little cap on the stem. Got it from Boswell Pipes in PA. Came with everything here except for two of tobaccos. Excited about the pouch as now I'm more portable with my pipes.

I dropped something in the fermentor once that I needed to get out. Just reached in and grabbed it... Beer came out just fine. I don't recommend doing that obviously, but it's a data point.

I add it with 10 minutes to go but you can technically add it at any point. It adds no flavor, color, etc only mouth feel. It will boost your gravity reading numbers a little bit, but it will be the same addition to OG as it will to FG so your difference should remain the same.... It does not...

Something tells me we would be good friends. The most important thing to remember while doing this is to relax and not worry. If you follow the instructions well enough, you're going to make beer, and it'll probably be pretty good :)

If you're doing extract, throw 4oz of maltodextrin in when I you make dark beers. I've noticed a huge improvement in mouth feel and overall beerness in my stouts and porters.

This is a silly question, but there is no reason I couldn't pack a pipe, put the pipe in a pouch or something ahead of time so as to not fuss with packing at a bar etc is there? Any way to keep the pipe packed?
