    ECY on love2brew.com right now!

Al told me via Facebook: ECY is a part time gig so it has been difficult to supply all requests. However, I have suspended brewery orders so that I can send more units to the stores for homebrewer's. Hope that helps. AL With any luck it should get better for home brewers.

    ECY on love2brew.com right now!

Not to glote but I believe I got the last jar of of bugfarm last week. When I got joe's email I almost fell out of my chair, I've been trying for well over a year... more like 2 year. Just keep trying from what I've heard, it's worth it.

Show us your element housings/pots. How did you do it?

Still good here, not sure but I guess I've brewed 8-10 batches now and am still happy with them, they make breakdown really easy. I just rebuilt my BK's element housing so I should post some images of it. The j-box was a little difficult to remove and clean every time so I made a supper...

    New York 10gal mash kettle

Right, if I closed it off to a VERY slow flow with a ball valve I could prevent that from happening so maybe for a direct fire gravity drain mash tun it would be OK but I was unable to maintain mash temps using a HERMS coil. Not tiring to derail you sale... I did get a good deal that included...

    New York 10gal mash kettle

This configuration makes it very difficult to use a pump with. You can only pump out and in at a very slow rate, to fast out of the kettle and it will pull air in through the sight glass and the pump will lose its prime, to fast in and it will overflow out the sight glass. I had to watch it like...

    DIY Cost-Effective Immersion Wort Chiller

@dannylerch Thought copper is a better conductor you'll find that most the stainless steel tubing has a much thinner wall then the copper tubing that is available and therefor its ability to transfer heat will be equal, if not better. This was brought up in a HERMS coil discussion over at...

Pump Receptacles on side of Control Panel?

Nothing as long as it fits and it's comfortable for you. I used a standard wall outlet for my pumps and broke off the hot jumper between the two socket. Would this work so you could keep them at the bottom? Let me know if your interested in more info.

    Boil Kettle Ideas needed

I’ve not seen brewer’s hardware’s trub filter in action but from what I understand it would do the job all on it’s own. I feel get similar results with out a $130 filter by adding an ounce of whole cone hops (low AA%, neutral aroma if need be) at knock out and...

    Boil Kettle Ideas needed

I've thought about doing something like that. One way would be to weld a spud or a 1/2 coupler on the bottom 2-3 inches from the keggle wall for a wort out port away from the trub cone. That way you could avoid a dip tube, have your port below the false bottom, have a big CIP port at the bottom...

    Boil Kettle Ideas needed

I have flat bottom kettles with a false bottom, I put my bottom drain off centered, I get a nice trub cone in the center after a 15 minute whirlpool. if I toss an oz of whole cones in I get next to no trub or pellet bits in my fermentors.

Malt Blast (15% abv) advice needed

Didn't see you indicating the use of oxygen, you'll want to hit it with O2 as soon as it's in the formentor and ever 6-8 hours until it starts going (if you're not up to speed w/ O2 and high gravity brewing search for it). And you'll most likely want to brew a small beer to get enough yeast, I'd...

The Brewers Association’s Guide to Starting Your Own Brewery

Anyone have this Ray Daniels book and no longer want/need it? The AHA sells it for $80 and I see it on Amazon for $50, can anyone do better then that? It’s not for me, a restaurant owner I know is thinking of opening a brew pub so I suggested this might be a worthwhile read.
