I attempted to setup an RO system. Buckeye hydro not working as advertised tho.

How much effluent should there be compared to how much RO filtered water? When running it, it seemed to be 50/50 by eye.

I have a sink for the effluent. Gonna look at it again tomorrow. Not feeling good tho. If I have to throw it out and buy another I'm good with that too. Anyone here recommend something that just works "out of the box" with instructions etc?

I let it run for like 10 minutes with little change. I'm not happy so far.

Also, what is in the pic with the black plastic in the bag? There were NO INSTRUCTIONS whatsoever from buckeye hydro.

As with coffee, I grind immediately before adding it to water.

During your research please also figure out a good way to heat a jacket fermenter. (For the purpose of kviek fermentation or sasions) That seems to be the big drawback

That pic is actually two spunding valves. There's a blichmann on the fermenter I use during fermentation and then the blowtie on the keg I use during transfer (1psi differential between fermenter and keg) And yeah, that giant monstrosity off the fermenter is a filter. Works GREAT. I love it.

I use a northern brewer ss cfc and have no issues. I chill down to about 165⁰ for whirlpool. After that it takes about 7 or 8 minutes to go into the fermenter at 65⁰. (6 gallon batch) I will time it eventually out of curiosity tho. I too didn't want any copper in my system. The stout ss cfc is...

Ho do you guys with solos and RO water filters fill the kettle? Before brew day? Just check on it every so often?

I'm gonna use this in a spike solo. Is there some kinda "neater" way to do this using the 1.5" TC in the basket?
