Congrats on your first!!! Everytime you brew a batch, you refine your process on your quest to the perfect pint-
search or google "Late extract additions" in regards to LME and carmelization that may contribute to a perceived harsh flavor or twang as well as lighten the color of your beer.
Awesome, you are going to have a blast:)
When I did extract batches I would put the LME bottles in really hot water to help liquify them so that they poured easier into the boil. Also, its hard to beat watching the yeast work in a glass carboy on the first batch at least...
Good luck
I just bottled NB's Dead Ringer last weekend and it was well over 5 months:) Very clear...and tasted great coming out of the carboy. I have it bottled in the basement @74. I can see a very small layer of yeast at the bottom, so it still had viable yeast:)

Export your recipes to another folder. Uninstall beersmith, delete the install folder-C:\Program Files\BeerSmith
Search "beersmith" or ".bsm" in registry and delete all the keys you find...reinstall trial, import your recipes...takes like 10 minutes
I would do an IPA, then a black IPA, then an IPA. Then I would do an IPA followed by an IPA. Then, I would drink craft IPA's to collect bottles to brew another IPA.
See it through to bottle-there is experience value in every batch
Brew another batch and change the detail you have any questions about. Fine tuning.
I chilled with ice in a plastic tub...like three 10 pound bags of ice and filled with some water-it chilled quick. I think your sink wasnt deep...
Bro, if it was that easy to make killer brew...it wouldnt be that much of a hobby:) there is something about it that cant be articulated...even though u read it over and over-You just have to brew and keep brewing until you get it, til it works for you
I purchased this exact kit - Its perfect. I matched it with a turkey fryer and started brewing extracts. Not that happy with the beer quality, but the equipment is everything you need to start getting your process down. I would buy it again. I added another an ale pail for 12 bucks to be able to...
I have this same kit working now - or maybe not working. It has been in the primary for over 6 weeks - stuck at 1.020 - Same temp as the op-
good two day ferment and temp dropped to 63 - moved it to raise it to 68-70 after a week-No change
I just used the dry notty sprinkled on top, I had...
