First mead question: adding honey during fermentation

Sorry to throw you off wi ththe terminology...I actually didn't boil. I only heated to 160 and let it sit for 10 minutes or so to bring the temperature down. Don't know the term for that heating phase.

First mead question: adding honey during fermentation

Very informative post. Thank you. My recipe is the exact same as the MAOM recipe posted here, except I misread the instructions. I thought it was a full "boil", and I doubled the recipe. So the first thing I did was put 4 gallons in a pot and start adding ingredients to it. So after a...

First mead question: adding honey during fermentation

I used the MAOM recipe but screwed it up by adding 10.5 lbs of honey to 4.5 gallons of total solution instead of 4. Storing beer in a keg

Thanks for the info and the graph. Very helpful. So I've got them stored at ~20-30 PSI depending on the type of beer. When I go to put them in the fridge, I would then relieve the pressure to ~10-12 PSI to serve and hook it up to the gas and I should be good to go, correct?

    Storing beer in a keg

Will the kegs stay up to pressure if not constantly hooked to gas? If I'm blasting with 30 PSI to set the lid, what do I want the pressure to settle out at....around 12?

    Storing beer in a keg

Sorry, I know it's been hit numerous times, but I wanted to ask a couple specific questions reguarding storing beer in kegs. I have a bunch of extract kits to get through from the AHS sale, and I just got my kegging equipment in. I want to keg the beer and disconnect the gas and let it sit...

    Testing yeast viability

Noob here. I'm wanting to brew a batch of pumpkin ale today...it's going to be a while before I'll have the time to get to it in the near future so I really want to get it done this afternoon. My liquid yeast may have frozen in shipment, so I bought a dry back-up (both were mentioned in...
