    Adventures in new fatherhood

My son is now almost 4, we adopted him and were there for his first breath... They grow up fast, get a high speed camera to catch the action, it goes by in a flash. Sunday I brewed, my son was helping me dough in and add hops, moments before heating the strike water I heard a plunk, turned...

    Saison Cottage House Saison

The citrus does fade in time, I try and enjoy mine fresh and young to keep things bright on the palette

Dark Mild Reaper's Mild, 1st place 2011 HBT Competition

Double brew day almost half over, 10 gallons of this mild, 10 gallons of biertent lager. Watching 20 gallons at one time for boilovers, hop additions etc is a chore!

    Saison Cottage House Saison

Zest a tangerine or two and roll with that! Why not? Just rolling with what I had on hand is how I came up with the recipe in the first place!

Kilts and the brewers who wear them

Here is the pic from my interview article, it's Albannach tartan. (Universal) it's a USAkilts casual kilt, great for summertime, and for daily wear and dirt cheap considering it's made to measure!

Kilts and the brewers who wear them

USAkilts -tartan kilts, wear one! Heritage is not an issue here, and so many universal tartans out there. UTkilts -tartan and utility kilts, great guy to deal with! Stillwater kilts -tartan kilts, best make space on your porch before ordering, he is legendary for his fast shipping....

Kilts and the brewers who wear them

Pick up a casual kilt or semi traditional from USAkilts, it's a bespoke kilt you can abuse, wear out and about, and toss it in the wash! the guys Rocky has working with him are all perfectionists, my kilts from him are all amazing!

Kilts and the brewers who wear them

I recently acquired a new kilt in the Albannach tartan from Rocky at USAkilts. It's my new go to kilt for daily wear. I think I was wearing it in my Brew-n-A interview.

Kilts and the brewers who wear them

I like brewing on a chilly morning while kilted, I get an occasional whisp of heat off the burner right up my kilt, warms the boys nicely.

Butt brown ale.....What tartan is that? Too many hams in the pic, I had to avert mine eyes

Kilts and the brewers who wear them

Ha! The best trick I've found is to just loop it like an extension cord and hold in place with a cable cuff or Velcro strip

Boiling up the haggis, I cook the turnips in the same pot, a good many wee heavies were already in me at this point.
