Free Stella Chalice-Just call and they'll ship it!

I had a bit of Insomnia last night and tried to get one but it took FOREVER. I can get one if these for $2 at hy-vee. Not knocking the free stuff but its not worth my time.

    Now I get it

I bottle. It's a love hate relationship. I have been actively collecting bombers so it doesn't take as long. I will however be building my keezer this winter and starting to keg.

My sister wears this uderwear, she likes brewing?

Is this the thread where we share what type of underwear we brew in? I'm more of a boxer-briefs kind of brewer.

    busy night.

Bottled a batch of beer then bottled a batch of appfelwein, put the kids to bed, cleaned the carboy out and filled it back up with appfelwein. Then cleaned up the mess I made in the kitchen. As homebrewtalk forums as my witness, I will be kegging by the end of 2012

What was your initial investment into your home brew setup? How has it changed?

I used birthday money to buy my first brewing kit, wort chiller was purchased via eBay business, turkey fryer was a gift and i use my buddies mash tun. So I probably have around $50 of my own money invested

Official 2011 "Pay It Foward" Thread

I mistakenly purchased a 5 pound bag of maltodextrin instead of the dextrose I was after. That's really the only extra stuff I have. It's up for grabs. "SpottedDogBrewing got it"

Don't worry about it then. I get 75% off of fedex. If you can get me the measurements and weight I can see if its worth it. But if its a hassle don't worry about it. Thanks.

Would you ship if I paid for it?

Maybe stupid question, but what makes a beer a "double" or "triple" beer?

I myself am a fan if IPAs. But I prefer a big nose, big taste and just enough bitterness to mellow out the sweetness. My first recipe (that I came up with) had that balance. I can't stand IPAs that numb my tastebuds after awhile.

    Brand freaking new!!!

Airlock is not the best measure for fermentation. I wait 3-4 weeks in primary and then bottle. Make sure you take gravity readings. If gravity is stable for 3 days you should be ok. I only secondary, well I never secondary. The glass carboy that came with my set is now dedicated to...

    Any Midnight brewers?

Well they are 8 and 2 so I hope not. Although maybe the trub is not to blame for the loss of a couple of beers after all

    Any Midnight brewers?

I've never brewed that late but I have had bottling go late. My kids mean the best but sloooooow down the bottling process.

I think I may just bottle and remake then carb that batch. I have beer to bottle this week too. Finally getting my pipeline going. 3 fermentors full right now.

Do the majority of people carb this or not? I just sampled the hydro sample and it was delicious as is. What is the general consensus?

I may try that. The roastiness wasn't that bad. I think overall it was very good.

Forgot to post about the final problem. This beer was great. It was even better after being in the bottle for a couple of months. I will be brewing this again friday. Thanks again for all the help
