I mean - Do they break even due to the growing of the hop plants? Or is it still negative due to the gas required to harvest/ plant the hops?
How much co2 are you dudes throwing around?
Any kind of stout destroys my intestines. I have no idea why - but its really any stout (guiness is less so than others).
I mean - its so bad I stopped drinking them despite really loving them. I even tried to slowly build a 'tolerance' with my intestines and it just didn't work.
If I...
I don't see why adding the whole ounce would be detrimental. If you're worried - add it in increments and take some samples to make sure its not over oaked.
I know breweries that are oak aging their beer are setting it out in oak barrels. I would guess the surface area that the beer is...
I haven't really experienced this. I generally let my beer sit in the secondary for 3-4 weeks at a minimum. I have no idea if that has anything to do with it or not though - but you might want to try letting it sit longer.

They taste fine. I sterilized using star san. I doubt its infected. I was just curious if these things would sink again - or if I need to cold crash it to get them to sink.
I wanted to let it sit five weeks in the secondary - but I might settle with just four if these things are going to...
What is going on here? This is the fourth week in the secondary for this brew (a dead guy clone). It cleared really well and by the end of the third week I could see through it pretty easily.
Now its in the middle of the fourth week and there are pieces of what looks like trub floating up...
My irish stout didn't turn out that great. All my buddies came over to help drink it this weekend and every single one agreed its far from my best batch.
