New equipment lots of stuck sparge after stuck sparge - how to solve?

i'm starting to wonder if cylindrical coolers are more prone to stuck sparges than rectangular ones. I have an igloo cylinder cooler with a braid and have them all the time. I think the higher head pressure compacts the grain bed towards the bottom where the manifold/braid is

zinc coated metals release poisonous gases when you heat them up. So you aren't supposed to weld galvanized without proper ventilation. I've actually heard of brewers throwing zinc nuts into the BK because zinc is an important nutrient for the yeast that is often deficient

astringency problem & water profile help please

hammacks, your water pH is a bit high, which might be trouble. Your water is pretty soft, so your mash pH should be fine, but you may want to try acidifying your sparge water with lactic

    Raw Wheat vs Wheat Malt

you dont have to malt it, but it wont convert itself. You need to crush it, cereal mash it (which basically means gelatinize it by boiling it, then you need to mash it with some kind of light malted grain. Pils malt is good here. you could probably do 50-50 pils / raw wheat.
