Heating an outdoor fermentation chamber in cold weather

Thanks for the reply. I did put a dual stage controller on it because it was always my intent to put the fermentation chamber in the garage. I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there who was dealing with the same type of ambient temps and would mind sharing what they use so I don't...

Lightbulb ferm heater + new bulbs?

I'm in the same boat and I just started a new thread asking if anyone has any experience with outdoor fermentation chambers in extreme temps. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/heating-outdoor-fermentation-chamber-cold-weather-428122/#post5451381

Heating an outdoor fermentation chamber in cold weather

Anyone out there have any experience keeping a fermentation chamber warm when the ambient temperature is extremely cold? I want to move my 7 cu. ft. chest freezer fermentation chamber into my unheated garage, but it occasionally gets down to -25*F in the winter where I live. I'll probably test a...

Lightbulb ferm heater + new bulbs?

I would just experiment. If you need to go up to a 100 or 120 it shouldn't be a big deal, incandescent bulbs are pretty cheap.

    Beer line question

My 3/16" party tap is only 3 ft long and pours fine at 39 degrees and 10 psi.

    New to Kegs... No Pressure

The reason it went from 8 to 10 is probably because your beer is over carbonated for 8 psi at your kegerators temperature. The CO2 in the beer is released into the head space and increases the pressure shown on the regulator. I also have read on this forum that when regulators are cold it can...

Can I naturally carb at 68 degrees?

Probably just to get the initial seal on the keg

    New to Kegs... No Pressure

Yes, for a while, but then it will stop because there is no pressure to push it out. If you let it sit for a while it will start to pour again but your beer will start to become flat. Leave your CO2 on. If you keep it at the same temperature, yes. That being said, there is really no reason...

    Carbonating

This is from the sticky at the top of the forum. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/keg-force-carbing-methods-illustrated-73328/ I prefer the "set and forget" method, its easy and you never have to change your regulator pressure or worry about over carbed beer. Throw the keg in the fridge and...

    Banjo-style or jet-burner style?

I heard that if you screw up your spacing with the jet style there is potential to burn a hole in your kettle because the heat is more focused. Any truth to this?

    DIY desiccant for moisture control?

Yes, the pressure vessel is just used to form the gel substance that is later dried at normal atmospheric pressures. It sounds like it could be used free standing, maybe in a container with a fine mesh top or side that would allow moisture to be absorbed.

    DIY desiccant for moisture control?

First post! hope its in the right place... When I built a fermentation chamber out of an old chest freezer one of the things I noticed was all the condensation. I was afraid of eventual mold problems so googled around and found a few options. Disposable desiccants that you have to keep buying...
