Kegging under pressure from Anvil 7.5 SS bucket fermenter to 5 gallon corny

ok after watching the youtube video that Mudbug posted, I'm going to order the parts to do that with my anvil, as it doesn't require any modification of the lid at all. Does the purchasing ever end??? :D

    Rapid forced carbonation

Yep, it's not perfect, but I don't think anything is when you rush it. But it definitely works in a pinch. Glad it worked out for you too. Hopefully this doesn't offend anyone, but i call it the Stevie Wonder method now :D

Kegging under pressure from Anvil 7.5 SS bucket fermenter to 5 gallon corny

I don't think I want to weld something on the top of my anvil FV's but it's pretty neat. I'm going to stick to using the #7 stopper and drilling out a hole in that for a carbonation cap to fit in.

Kegging under pressure from Anvil 7.5 SS bucket fermenter to 5 gallon corny

So if you have the ball lock on the top of the Anvil permanently like that, maybe this is a silly question, but how do you set up an airlock? Do you just connect the QD there and have it go to a bucket of water?

8mm OD EVA Barrier tube Duotight fitting for C02 regulator below shut off valve

yeah, it's not a bother now. I just put the EVA on a barb at the regulator and it's doing fine now. Decided not to arse about with it anymore :)

    Rapid forced carbonation

I posted a pic of a pint i poured yesterday evening: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/new-post-a-picture-of-your-pint.285100/post-10460223 I'd say it turned out pretty nice. You still need to wait for it to fully carbonate over time but if you want something to drink the day you keg it, then...

    Rapid forced carbonation

I found this video this morning and used the method this guy used at 43 seconds in. I can honestly say it worked, as I've been drinking the EPA i kegged and force carb'd this morning. His fridge is a bit gross though. Needs a good clean in my opinion :D

New post a picture of your pint

Brewers Best English Pale Ale that I just did some force carbonation on this morning (there's a method I tried that looks like it works lovely so far) Head is a bit bigger than I prefer, but I'm happy it's turned out how it has. Tastes fantastic. Cheers

    Use of flavoring extracts?

My wife doesn't like beer, but said she would be willing to try a flavoured beer. I personally don't enjoy the flavoured beers that don't taste like beer anywhere near as much as beer tasting beer. But is there a flavour that would really mask it, or are these extracts going to just mostly add...

8mm OD EVA Barrier tube Duotight fitting for C02 regulator below shut off valve

well, I forgot to take pics of what I did, but I managed to force the EVA gas lines on to 1/4" barbs that I had for the SPARC regulator. For some reason those 1/4" duotight connectors are too small. Not really sure how that makes sense, but they definitely don't fit. In order to get the EVA...

8mm OD EVA Barrier tube Duotight fitting for C02 regulator below shut off valve

I took a look at the old taprite and yep, it's not going to work on that. No worries, that thing is in such bad shape I should just bin it anyway. The guy i got all this stuff from didn't take care of his gear. So, if these duotights don't work, then I'm going to just do what you did and put...

8mm OD EVA Barrier tube Duotight fitting for C02 regulator below shut off valve

Interesting. Well, I know it's odd, but it's definitely holding the gas in and it really didn't feel like it wasn't going to fit. It screwed on fine without the tape too, literally no friction, noise, rough or increasing tightening toughness. When i unscrewed it to put the tape on, there wasn't...

Kegging under pressure from Anvil 7.5 SS bucket fermenter to 5 gallon corny

well that was simple, but extremely helpful from both of you. Thanks guys :) I've actually got a little 2.5LB C02 tank that still has gas in it. I'll use that to try this out. Looking forward to trying this now. I've got a batch of EPA that's ready to keg in a couple of days. Just need to find...

Kegging under pressure from Anvil 7.5 SS bucket fermenter to 5 gallon corny

Not sure if anyone's tried this, but in my quest for fun ways to brew beer better, I came across a little method that I'm going to try out. Will it make my beer better? Who knows, but it'll be fun to try :) Here's the video at the right spot: Just need to figure out how to not overfill the keg

8mm OD EVA Barrier tube Duotight fitting for C02 regulator below shut off valve

I think there may be a bit of miscommunication that is causing some confusion too :D I've got the air connectors on the flare side, (the bulb gas out to keg) part of the valve. Not the tapered NPT side. And only used a very minimal amount of teflon (one full turn and a slight overlap)...

8mm OD EVA Barrier tube Duotight fitting for C02 regulator below shut off valve

Must've been the smoothest cross thread I've ever felt then :D Not disagreeing with you, but it literally felt like it screwed on perfectly. Didn't get any of that need to force it or that lovely metal on metal grinding that you would normally feel from a cross thread. However, to avoid...

Still new, but decided to ditch bottling and try kegging

Ok, I can safely say that my first keg was over carbonated. (that was the oktoberfest in the pic above). The red ale I've let carbonate over time at 12psi and it's connected to my normal Nukatap (no FC) and it pours perfectly with the tap wide open. So that's my lesson learned. Now I know the...

8mm OD EVA Barrier tube Duotight fitting for C02 regulator below shut off valve

yes that's what the shut off valve looks like basically. The bulb nose part is what i had to connect to. Ok, I should've used a washer then from the sounds of it :D But teflon tape did the trick. I sprayed starsan all over the place to check for any leaks and no bubbles appeared anywhere except...
