    Just a thought

    at the moment, i'm using a coopers original series larger kit, but apparently the yeast is a mix strain, larger+ale yeast, and the instructions provided say 18 degrees celcius or 65.4 F, will still ferment anything under 16 deg C or 60.8 F, and it will stall. at the moment the brew is sitting...

    it varies, depending on how long the heating is on each day, but roughly about 16-18 degrees, could be higher if the heating is on for longer

    I've been doing a bit of thinking, dangerous i know. i've got a bearded dragon at home, and spare heat mat, if i placed a layer of material between it and the fermentation vessel, could it serve as a heater to adjust or maintain the temperature of the wort? any thoughts?

    ha ha ha, i've had nothing as vigorous as that, it is simple and all that, but as regards krausen, i really don't know if i've had any,there was a bit of gas build up under the lid, that was evident, but as regards to actual bubbles you see in other airlocks, i havent had anything similar yet...

    Oh Just while im on could anyone identify this type of airlock? its strange i've seen s-types and 3 piece, but this? 2 piece airlock can anyone suggest the best way to use it? the lid has no holes in it to allow excess CO2 to escape

    ok so, herein lies the problem so, we all know too high and the yeast will die, too low and the yeast will become dormant, at the moment the brew is maintaining at 18 degrees C ( 64.5F) should i adjust the temperature up or down or just leave it the way it is? Its Gas, this is my first...

    cheers, still a bit worried about it, i've been reading around that larger yeasts are supposed to be pitched and fermented at much lower temperatures but on the instructions provided with the kit is says to pitch much higher, 18-28 degrees C.
