Problems with a Counter Pressure filler.

All goes well until the foam gets into the overflow valve then filling sticks and becomes eratic. It's as if the foam it's self is blocking the overflow valve, I can get it going by opening and closing the overflow and beer valves but it's just not right. Any suggestions as to how I might fix...

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

I have an issue, my ispindle configured and calibrated without any dramas but only sends one of two readings to Uidots. I've seen this reported on the Net but I've no clear idea how to fix it, can you point me in the right direction? thanks all. AAmcle

    To recirculate or not- EBIAB

I have brewed BIAB style with and with out a pump, you will be fine with out one however I would recommend insulating your vessel but then I don't own a mill. If you want to do a step mash you still can just raise the bag heat the wort put the bag back and stir. Good Luck. Aamcle

Winter Makes Me Hate Propane! Convert Equipment or Go GRAINFATHER??

I sparge my GF with cold water, it would be inconvenient to heat it, and the last two brews gave me 78% Mash Efficiency. That's good enough for me, there are a number of very workable knock offs of the GF selling your old gear might well buy one. Atb. Aamcle

Actuated valves that pinch silicon tubing?

Many Thanks and a Happy Christmas to you :) Aamcle

Actuated valves that pinch silicon tubing?

Thanks. I did find some in the end in a Lab supplies catalogue but the price was far too high. If I do build an automated system the valves are going to be a combination of 3d printed parts and evilbay solenoids. Aamcle

    CraftBeerPi - Raspberry Pi Software

Evening All. I'm considering a build with a good deal of automation so I've got questions I hope you will help me with. Can the CBPi control valves on a timer? Example in 40 mins close one valve and open another. How many sets of valves can it manage? For instance can it divert wort flow into...

    Latest greatest Arduino/Pi diy controllers

I've got a bit behind I've not been following since I got a GF. What is current that will control the mash, hop additions and a few valves? Ab. Aamcl

External Control of an Induction Hob?

I had a search but the results were a year or more old. Is there any sensible way to control a induction hob with a Pid/Ssr combination? I would be running the controller via some sort of arduino/raspberry pi system. I'm considering a tiny (5 litre into bottles) build and induction heating is...

Actuated valves that pinch silicon tubing?

My printer is currently in bits but I'll have it going by Christmas, it will take a little ingenuity to keep the 100°C tubes away from the printed parts but it can be done. Thingiverse also has a Peristaltic pump heads sadly I'm limited at the moment to PLA, ABS and Petg and they won't take the...

Actuated valves that pinch silicon tubing?

A peristaltic pump was my first thought but as you said a pump that will manage even 1 liter a minute is costly. I'd still like to use tubing in the 3/8" range which makes it a bit harder. Atb aamcle

Actuated valves that pinch silicon tubing?

I'm interested in a small build and I'd like to use sanitary silicon tubing and some sort automated way of pitching the silicon tubing to stop and start the flow. Does such a system exist? If so what is it called? What's the latest in Arduino/Raspberry Pi diy controller builds? Thanks...

    Recipe Wanted :- Carlsberg 68

It was a little while ago but I liked it and would like to brew it between Christmas and New Year but I've had no luck finding a recipe. It was stronger than their standard lager but not as strong as Special Brew. Thanks aamcle

Just looking for 2 vessel brewers

You may as well include the Grain Farther and it's derivatives, just because one vessel is hidden inside the other doesn't mean it's not there. So you could reasonably call it 2 vessel. Aamcle

    Bottle Conditioning Lager

I've thought about that, during lagering don't various proteins come out of solution and settling out. If I lager in bottles will the beer pour clear? Thanks All. Aamcle

    Bottle Conditioning Lager

Morning All. Just to get something out of the way, I like bottles they suit the amount I drink and I have no intention of serving from a keg. Currently I have a lager sitting in a Corny at 0°C under Co2 to force carb prior to being bottled via a counter pressure filler. That's Ok but it's a...
