    Bar Build

Only about halfway done. Now I just need to make it pretty. Hardwood trim, bar rail, and bar surface.

That would make it very hard to unplug. Touché.

I unplug mine from the wall after every session. It seems I may be the only one.

PID w/ Potentiometer dial for Manual Mode

Cheapest insurance against boil over is ferm cap or other silicon defoaming agent. No worry at all.

You know you're a home brewer when?

I once made a kitchen sink IPA. Cleaned everything out.

    Kettle has CHARGE!! Help!

Ground it properly before doing anything else. Then double check every connection and wire. Always make sure to finish your project before using it.

    Clear beer!

Simcoe smash made with the last winter season's snowmelt. No finings, no Irish moss, just a few months in the bottle. I like to think the snow melt water made a difference.

    How to make AMAZING IPA

What is the pH of your sparge water? It's nice that your mash pH is where it needs to be, but that is all negated when sparking with water that is near pH 7. Your sparge water should be acidified to near the pH of your mash. Tannin extraction is pH dependent. This may help with your bitterness...

lowest OG for insanely hoppy IPA?

I have been making session beers, including ipa's, for the past year. It takes some practice to get a low abv beer to taste like a "normal" beer. Mashing high, in the the range of 156-158 is key, but you have to start with quality malts. The reason people described those beers as thin is because...

Moving Into A Brewtio/Brewfficiency. Electric Advice Please?

FYI, I had a weak boil with 3000w for 7 gallons down to 5.5-6 gallons. Above that, I don't see 3000w providing enough heat for a boil to render 10 gallons of wort.

How to add permanent volume markings to a kettle (illustrated)

Your Roman numerals look much better than mine.

Problem Boiling 4 gallons with a 2000 watt element

A quick and easy potential fix may be to wrap the kettle in a towel or two to insulate it. When I was using 2 1500w heat sticks, this decreased the time of heating. Might save you some heat loss.

    Are hops deer resistant?

Sometimes the young dumb ones will try them out. The problem usually works itself out. If not, I've used capsaicin spray with success.

Thanks! A friend of mine had a friend of his make it a couple of years ago and gave me six of them. I'm afraid I don't know where to point you as I don't know if it was a custom job or not.

Exactly as fancy as I wanted it. No alarms, no buzzers, and no timer. Works perfectly for for me though. Two separate circuits. The rims and pump run off of a 15 amp 120v circuit and the hlt/bk hot rod runs on 240v.

New brew stand: Long project in the making!

I'm afraid I don't have many process pictures, but here it finally is in all it's glory. The control panel is powered by a 110v circuit and a 220v circuit. I can mash and boil at the same time, if needed. Everything is all tested and auto-tuned.
