    Darth Vader IPA

I wanted to up the alcohol, to make sure it lived up to the standards of the Empire... Make sure it's truly fit to be called an Imperial. I wanted to stick to the characteristics of its name sake as much as possible

    Darth Vader IPA

If all else fails, I'll change the name... Java the Hut brown ale. Lol

    Darth Vader IPA

Right now, it's the color of a good black coffee

    Darth Vader IPA

I mashed at about 154. 3 gallon boil then I'm going to top off to 5 gal. I kind of agree about the hops. But this is the recipe as I find it (name and all) so I figured I would give it a shot before I changed it around too much. Maybe I'll get some galaxy hops, (since it should be from a...

    Darth Vader IPA

Lol my kitchen is deceiving. Along with the clutter I moved to the other counters and dining room table, I also have cats that like to... "Help". So I try to keep as much or of my work space as possible. I read somewhere it helps to lay everything out, in the order your going to use it so you...

    Darth Vader IPA

Here I am, making a batch of Darth Vader IPA. Interested to see how this turns out. And of course you can't brew without a brew. Drinking "Night Train" by local O'so Brewery.

    Galaxy IPA advice

I'm curious how this turned out/will turn out. I'm considering buying a bunch of galaxy hops (for the name) in a series of "star wars themed" beers and wondering how the flavor profile turns out.

    Growing hops horizontally

With my work schedule (or rather lack of schedule; working on call) that's what I'm agrafe of. If I have to go to work at 5 in the morning, the blanket may not get taken off until 5 in the evening

    Growing hops horizontally

My magnum just started sprouting. Now the forecast says freezing temps over night for the next week. Should I cover it?

    Growing hops horizontally

So, I shouldn't expect to get much out of my horizontal hoops 5-6 feet of the ground? If I decide to grow vertically next year (or the year after) how big of a root ball would I need to dig up too preserve as healthy a specimen as reasonably possible

    Growing hops horizontally

Hmmmm. Well I don't Brew often enough to need pounds and pounds of hops, if I can get enough for 2-3 batches, I'll be happy. If I get enough for 1 for the first year then awesome

    Quick help and suggestions

I thought it was ready to bottle because it did stop bubbling once, so I brought it upstairs from my basement so, if it jostled at all, it would settle before bottling day, and it took off again. Is been 4 days since I thought it stopped bubbling the first time, and it's still going about one...

    Quick help and suggestions

Thank you everyone. Yeah, I'm not in a hurry at all. Not planning on sharing until June. Time is on my side.

    Quick help and suggestions

I'm fine letting it sit. I wasn't trying to imply I needed it soon. I just want to have as much to share as I can, so I don't want to sample much, if at all. I just wasn't sure since the instructions don't actually list an OG or a FG, just a time table of when to bottle (2 weeks). But since it...

My idea for an Imperial IPA

Does this look any better for a malt profile? I did add rice syrup solid and changed my corn sugar... Because that's what I have on hand. I'm kind of set on using these hops(because that's what I'm growing), is there maybe a different schedule you might suggest? I can change the quantities of...

    Quick help and suggestions

Such a small batch I'm worried about contamination. Plus my sample tube is the cheap plastic tube the hydrometer came in, which actually has tape covering a hole... So doesn't seem like something I want to pour back into the batch.

    Quick help and suggestions

Here's my dilemma... I brewed a 1 gallon kit (Brooklyn Brew Shop - Piney Pale Ale). I neglected to take an OG. It's been fermenting for 2 weeks, and it's still bubbling. I want to bottle it but I want to make sure it's done doing it's thing so I don't end up with bottle bombs. Biggest problem...
