First run at making cold brew coffee and dispensing it on Nitro

Hi all! Late in replying, but....1 pound to 1 gallon is IMO the best ratio. I don't bother with decaf dilution . I was going to recommend finding a local roaster, or even at worst case, a grocery store that has the commercial grinders to use when buying their selection of roasted...

☕ Coffee ☕: Ingredients, Roasting, Grinding, Brewing, and Tasting

Happy for you Scrappy!!! I roasted 3 different batches for that. An early, a middle, and one stretched way past fc. Taste tested all of them, and ended up sending the middle roast, as I thought it presented the best for that bean. Must be my taste doesn't compare to theirs.

How many pounds of roasted coffee in 2021?

Ya'll ready for this??? LMAO! Finally...I believe that I have everything back up and operating...for the most part, correctly! Definitely a challenge, that had more updates and snafu's than you could shake ten sticks at! There are a couple overlays of the same roasts, as I didn't take the time...

☕ Coffee ☕: Ingredients, Roasting, Grinding, Brewing, and Tasting

You can use coldbrewed coffee as a base for hot coffee @pshankstar. You just heat it up by adding hot water into it. You don't want to heat the coldbrew up by placing over heat, as that will cook the coffee. A 50/50 mix is the most I would use, unless you make fantastically strong coldbrew...

    Looking into cold brew coffee

You can steep at room temp. You'll have to keep it quick though (limit to 24 hours) the warmer the temperature is. I keep my indoor temp around 70, and the most I'll steep for is 36 hours. Much longer, you'll be running a risk of developing mold growing. That time will decrease with a warmer...

    Kreuzberg beer

Unfortunately I didn't get to finish this. In between checking gravity readings, my airlock got knocked out of the lid bung. Don't know for how long it wasn't there, so I put it back in, ever hopeful. 2 days of no noticed activity. Took a gravity sample and was still 15 points off of target...

    Who's smoking meat this weekend?

@applescrap .... You inspired me to do some nachos!!! I am going to use a pork butt for mine, seasoned with chili powder, paprika, garlic, salt, onion, a little mustard, and some cumin. The turkey breast is dinner tonight!

Yes...welcome @JJinMD!!! Happy to see newcomers!!! I'll have an update sometime...lol.! My laptop decided to get stupid and slow, and unfortunately met a gruesome and untimely demise!! The replacement arrives today, but not sure when I'll have it all loaded up and rolling.

Not that I like what you went thru HTB! I've had some issues with the different f/w upgrades where the machine was just oblivious to any control input commands. You're right, very frustrating! The support that Ailio has given is second to none, and if you haven't joined the slack account, I...

HERMS temp control- I can't dial in

I'll take a whack at this...lol. Not knowing all the variables makes it a challenge. Not knowing your procedure multiplies that difficulty...I have a HERMS also. I take my mash temp coming out of the HLT, on it's return to the MLT, for the record, and will check my grain bed temps occasionally...

    Looking into cold brew coffee

Stout, if your asking me. I also would say you can use a "commercial" grind in brewing also, as a fine grind will get compacted in the filter and make draining it a pita, and too coarse a grind you end up using more coffee to achieve something you could have used less for. YMMV, depending on the...
