I'm using a 7 gal bucket for a primary. Airlock is going crazy with bubbles so i decided to replace it with some tubing. When i went to put the tubing in, it pushed the airlock o-ring into the batch. So now the tube doesn't fit and neither does the airlock. Would it be ok to just tape the...

i have yet to brew a batch of beer. Im just getting all the info i can while i get the equipment piece by piece. Is it necessary to aerate with half boils?

I'm in Conroe. I only know of 2 brew shops in houston. Defalcos http://www.defalcos.com/ and The Brew Stop (site is down) but it's in north houston, located at 16460 Kuykendahl #140 just north of 1960. One in south houston and one in north.

would only boiling half and then adding the water from the freezer after have any effect on the outcome of the beer? Seems like all the flavors wouldn't mesh as well. I might be thinking about it in an odd way.

I know copper is prefered for wort chillers. Is there something i can use to substitute that isn't as costly without putting a batch at risk?

I just bought my first peice of equipment today. I picked up a use 15.5 gal keg from the scrap yard for just under $50. Fair price? I'm looking forward to buying the rest later this week. Thanks to all the posters on here for all the great info. CHEERS:rockin:
