    Temperature Inside Fermenter

    wouldn't one of those 'stick-on' thermometers work to measure the temp inside? i imagine the temp in the middle of the wort is pretty dang close to the outer edges. just a thought, i'm new at this so i may be way off base...

    I 'third' that :). Turkey burner works wonders and if something spills over, bust out the garden hose for clean-up!

    how do you 'know' if you've contaminated your beer? does it have a bad smell, skunky taste, etc???

    so, an aluminum pot is ok? someone told me to use stainless, but i'm still green at this hobby / addiction.

    that's pretty cool. i'm hoping this will be done by the time i go to the beach on a fishing trip. and cornhole is bags, bag toss, tailgate toss, etc... it's a pretty fun game, especially when you have a few beers.
