    Risk of bottlwboms?

This might be what has happend, becouse I had too high temps at mashing. Hope for the best. If they will explode when it's most likely to happen? How many hours /days after bottling. I added priming sugar to get 3.0 volume to Co2.

    Risk of bottlwboms?

I used us-05 yeast that should have attenuation of 73—77%. I counted that my attenuation was 68%. But I bottled it anyway. OG 1.080 FG 1.024 With 73% attenuation the FG should have been 1.020. Fermented in primary for 3 weeks at 20C°. It was a one-gallon-batch. So what do you think? Does...

What about that huge headspace!?! Oxidation?

Ok. This is what I thought too. No sugars vaporate with water.

Question about boiloff: My preboil gravity is correct, but I loose more water in boiling than I planned. I add water at 10mins so my water amout is what I thought it would be? If I do this, do I hit or miss my target FG?

    Hopping from Flameout to 68F?

I have few batches fermenting now. I put one hop addition at flameout ant took it of after the chill was complete. Is this a bad thing? Will it make offflavors? What kind? First batch has mosaic at flameout and the other has Simcoe80%-Citra20%

Adding malts in a biab bag to strikewater?

Hi. Can put all my malts in a biab bag and when the water is at strike temperature I just put the bag in to the kettle (and stirr the malts)?? Everywhere is said that biab bag should be in place when adding grains at strike temperature, but I dont really understand why it has to be this way...

I thought about adding water after cooling, but I didn't have sanitized water (boiled and cooled) so I didn't want to risk it with tapwater.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I did my first allgrain/biab batch today. Everything went as a planned. Except everything... Mash temperature were way too high (like 74c /165F). My preboil volume was way more I intended. I got way more boiloff and had to add water, but still got 0.5l/0.26G less beer to fermenter. And my OG...

So how much beer left in the bucket in the end?

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Do you guys use bottling bucket or do you use siphon to transfer your beer to bottles? If a bottling bucket, what size for 1 gallon? Do you get all the beer out from the bucket via spigot? Any good photos of good 1g bottling buckets?

And that oxidize the beer?... or just less carbon dioxide?

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Ok, thanks everyone. I bought some PBW. Another question I'm wondering: Why shouldn't I bottle "the last half bottle"? I have seen many writings that you shouldn't bottle the last half bottle (if not able to bottle whole bottle at the end of your bottling). So why is this? What does it do to...

I meant dishwashing liquids that you normally use washing dishes (by hand).

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

With what do you guys clean your brewing equipments, fermentes, siphons and bottles? Do you use something like PBW? Is it totally forbidden to clean with normal kitchen washing liquids? (as was said in beersmit podcast) I have cleaned my kettle in dishwasher and used kitchen washing liquids...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Today I tasted the first beer from my first batch ever. It was 1gallon wheatbeer. It's amazing! And second batch is fermenting. I love this hobby!

I measured the temperature drop of 4.5 litres of water in my oven for one hour. It was 3 degrees. From 68C to 65C. Does someone know if it is the same drop with gains or more, or less?

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Well, my brewday is finished now. It took only 2h15mins including cleaning, so that was fast! I had a few mistakes that might spoil the purity of the beer: -While cooling the wort I accidentally spilled water from shower to the wort, but not much -when removing the hopsock I accidentally got...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

But don't many of fullgrain-biab-guys do the mashing in oven? I think I have read about it here...?? And I'm already planning my firs all grain biab. Just want to test the system couple of times with DME first :)
