    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I'm thinking about 3.2L in my one gallon fermentor and 0.6L batch in this. But I think I will use some other bottle to ferment than the picture. Maybe a sparkling wine bottle...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I'm thinking about doing a split batch with one gallon to compare different yeasts. Is there any reason why I shouldn't use this ikea 1 litre carafe to ferment the smaller batch. (I would find a proper plug and add airlock of course)

    Risk of bottlwboms?

Opened one at day 4. Not wery much carbonation yet. Taste wery sweet... a bit like barleywine. I have hope for the other bottles so I will not open/recap them if they stay fine. I hope I cans see from the bottlecaps if the pressure gets too high...

    Risk of bottlwboms?

I'm thinking I want to relieve the pressure before it sprays all over... So I get to drink the beer and not clean it from the walls. The picture is after 3days in bottle, so I guess it will still generate more pressure.

    Risk of bottlwboms?

No, it's before priming. This is what I did: -boiled wather and sugar and put that in big kettle. -siphoned the 1dl of beer to mesurementglass for FG. -siphon the rest of the beer to the kettle where is the sugars -siphoned from the kettle to bottles.

    Risk of bottlwboms?

It's 3 days since bottling. Opened one and recapped. In the picture you can see the small amount of gusher. Hiss-sound was a bit less than what you would expect from normal carbonation. Maybe tomorrow I drink one and decide if I'll open and recap them all.

    Risk of bottlwboms?

29h since bottling... I know it's too early to check, but I did open and recap another bottle... nothing unusual with that... Just a small hiss... I think I'll open another one tomorrow.

    Risk of bottlwboms?

I bottled the batch that Im concerned today... Maybe 6 hours ago. The picture is from a previous batch like 2 months ago, but the bottles are the same. I put the bottles that I'm concerned to safer place and I didn't took a picture of them, so I send the old picture (same bottles, different...

    Risk of bottlwboms?

Siphon + bottling wand. The smallest bottle has of course to much head space because I didn't have enough beer to fill it. I think in this batch the bottles have little less headspace than the last batch (the picture).

    Risk of bottlwboms?

Well. Thanks for help. I think I check another bottle tomorrow to see what's going on. (I'm feeling so noob)

    Risk of bottlwboms?

(Picture is from previous patch... Same bottles)

    Here are the bottles
  13. HemanBrew

    Risk of bottlwboms?

Should I open them all in maybe after 2days and recap? How much that will help? Or should I wait longer? I really don't want any explosions...
  14. HemanBrew

    Risk of bottlwboms?

Ok I'll be careful. But I'm a bit confused... Brewers friends examples says: "German Wheat Beer = 3.3 - 4.5 volumes" Why don't these explode? (I like the high carbonation in German wheats) Sorry for being noob. This is my first allgrain batch.
  15. HemanBrew

    Risk of bottlwboms?

I bottled these about 2-3 hours ago...
  16. HemanBrew

    Risk of bottlwboms?

I opened one. No gusher at all. Just a wery little hiss-sound (lasted like 0.1second).
  17. HemanBrew

    Risk of bottlwboms?

No tase of syrup or too high sweetness.
  18. HemanBrew

    Risk of bottlwboms?

The tast was grate before priming and bottling. Not too sweet. Hmm...

    Risk of bottlwboms?

Interesting. Last time I did volume of 2.7 and I thought that I want a bit more carbonation so I went with 3.0.
