    So who's brewing this weekend?

Yeah, I think I see a name for him, "Brew". Kind if like Drew Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Reasons for starting home brewing?

I like the idea that someday when I retire I can grow my ingredients, brew, and drink my own beer as a hobby. I want to live in the sticks and it sounds like an awesome, time consuming hobby that also give great reward for a job well done. I need to start off with the basics here first.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I'm not set up yet to lager but I have a craving for that style. I'm debating between a California Common and a Blonde Ale. It's hot here in so cal (90* today) and I'm thirsty. Looking to get some grains in the morning.

    All grain 1 gallon brewing

I just started AG myself and after my 1rst 1 gallon batch realized the time involved. My second batch I bumped up to a 3 gallon carboy. I experimented with a 1 gallon batch in the 3 gallon carboy and it came out good. I understand doing that may screw up fermentation though, so maybe not good...

    Lager substitute???

Even 50's isn't possible where I'm from in so cal. I'm running my ac this week to keep house to 72. Until I get a dedicated lager fridge, I'm fermenting at warm temps. I think I like the Steam Beer idea. Thanks bajaedition

    Lager substitute???

I'm new to all grain brewing. I've done a couple IPA's now and looking for a new brew. I'm looking to do a lager "like" beer but I don't have a chiller to ferment in yet. Any thoughts on beer type or recipe I could make that resembles a lager without having to lager?

Brooklyn Brew Shop Everyday IPA Kit Tips

My wife got me the same IPA kit. It made it easy and got me more interested in all grain brewing. I followed their directions and beer came out good. After my first batch, I went and got a 3 gallon carboy. Now I'm hooked.
