    Recirc, Wilser Bag, Crush Size

Thanks, actually it's working better than expected with pump wide open, and when I stir i only get a 2 degree difference, which is acceptable to me. My probe is located at mid point of my mash, and while nothing is ever ideal, for a simple system and brewer it works.

    Recirc, Wilser Bag, Crush Size

Mine with Riptide pump and brew Comnander.

    Recirc, Wilser Bag, Crush Size

Nope. The ULWD Boil Coil I run mash at 90-95% power and no scorch whatsoever on my Brew Bag, and the bag is all over in contact with it. I'm not the only one on the forum that does this using the Boil Coil and the others report no issues either. I think the ULWD element and its design, allows...

    Recirc, Wilser Bag, Crush Size

Lol, I must be odd man out here but I recirc my BIAB. I use a Brew Bag and no false bottom and so far haven't had a stuck sparge. I mill to credit card thickness as my feeler gauge. As far as I can tell my grain bed stays pretty fluid on full volume batches. My batches are typically 3.5-4.5...

BrewCommander - Impressive offering from John

With the compression fitting you can insert as much or as little of the probe into your kettle. For my BIAB, I just insert a little so that it won't bother my Brew Bag. Works great!

What Grains do you keep on hand all the time

I don't have tons of storage, so I buy 5-10 lbs each of base malts, Maris, Briess 2 row, Pilsner, and vacuum seal them and store in a large plastic totem. Specialty grains I buy in 2-3lbs and vacuum seal as well. I brew BIAB 3-4.5 gal batches and my supplier ships for free and I get a 10%...

Switching from 3 vessel to ebiab

I set mine to credit card thickness and it produces a nice crush even on wheat. Many here favor a tighter gap for increased efficiency for their BIAB. I think it takes a while to find your happy place and find a balance in crush, efficiency, and whether you favor sparge, squeeze, or just drain...

    Stirring strikewater

I use the probe temp, and recirc during mash. I use a controller to keep the temps stable as I can. I stir a couple times during mash and it does effect the temp by 2 degrees, so I know there's a little stratification but not enough to concern me.

    Stirring strikewater

I stir my strike water to mix up my water additions. My temp probe is at the 4 gal mark of a 10 gal kettle, and I see about a 2 degree difference when I turn the recirc Pump on.

    240v plug help

I'd think the locking plug would be standard and more desirable to have, but you can easily get an adapter off Amazon easily and be in business in no time.

    Ss Brewtech 1V eBrewing 10/20Gal system & 14Gal UniTank

Nice setup! Mine is pretty basic in my garage and shared with my woodworking equipment, so not a lot of space. I use a mini-fridge with an ink bird and a heat grid for temp control on the fermenter. Nothing fancy but it's enough for me to brew.

Induction hot plate or SS Brewtech 1V E-brewery?

I understand that, but that sounds very unsafe to do and would seem to negate the safety factor of a circuit tripping if your equipment malfunctions and overheats. I may be wrong cause it's been awhile since I was in production management but if I remember an equipment malfunction by overheating...

Induction hot plate or SS Brewtech 1V E-brewery?

The smallest volume I do on mine is 3.5 gallons. I guess I could push that slightly but it takes 3 gallons to cover the coils and they're always supposed to be submerged. 4 gal to cover my thermocouple, but on a full volume mash even on a small batch that's going to be covered anyway.

Induction hot plate or SS Brewtech 1V E-brewery?

I bring my strike water to temp at full 3500w and then I add my BIAB bag and grain. After dough in I'd cover the kettle and had a temp probe in the mash water connected by wire to the external read out. When temp would drop 3-4 degrees I'd turn the IC3500 on at 500 watts for a few minutes and...

Induction hot plate or SS Brewtech 1V E-brewery?

Too right my solution was an inline gfci that I bought from North Shore for $87. Works great and a lot cheaper than the electrician.

Induction hot plate or SS Brewtech 1V E-brewery?

I have a the IC3500 and it's worked great for my BIAB brewing. However it uses a 20 amp 240v circuit. I've used it with my 5.5 gal SsBrewtech kettle and a 7.5 gal Anvil kettle. Works great. I bought it on Amazon and bought a extended 3 yr warranty at the time. I've used it for a year with no...

    Ss Brewtech 1V eBrewing 10/20Gal system & 14Gal UniTank

Those ULWD coil elements work great for BIAB and don't scorch or burn the bag! I think you'll love that aspect. I don't have the SsBrewtech kettle but my Blichmann kettle with boil coil is similar in design. I use the Brew Bag and found that the whirlpool from the riptide during mash is strong...

    New Anvil Bucket Fermentors

I wouldn't touch that. Unacceptable for sure. Just have to be patient and persistent until you can get CS to get a new one to you.

    DIY BIAB basket?

Same here @jamorgan3777 , but I do stir a couple times during the mash and it seems like there's not a significant amount of grain at the bottom, so I feel like my riptide pump is doing a fair job.

    Grain Mill Recomendation

Been using it 14 months. My setup is small in my garage. 10 gal. 240v Blichmann kettle w/whirlpool, riptide pump, 240v Brew Commander, grain mill, SsBrewtech 3.5 & 7gal Brewbucket, mini fridge w/inkbird. BIAB method. Lol, end of Januray will be 2 years brewing and I have to quit buying stuff!
