    Blackberries

If you pick a butt load of blackberries would you run them through your crusher? Put them directly in the press and press the juice off? Thoughts?

    Question about grapes

I am hoping that someone has thoughts on this. Long story... Last year I went to a vineyard and bought 200 lbs. of grapes. Started some and froze the rest in bags (about 12 lbs./ bag). Well this winter I came across a crusher/destemmer for sale. I thawed out the rest of my grapes and ran them...

    Made champagne... on accident?

Everyone one of us who has done any serious of wine making has made a batch of bubbly on accident! Heck I made some Blackberry that I did not get degassed enough, but people loved it. Sit back and enjoy it. Stay thirsty my friends.

    Source for free fruit?

I live in Missouri. I pick my own Cherries, Blackberries, Elderberries and buy my grapes from a vineyard locally. As far as the picking goes it is a lot of work but worth it for the free fruit.

http://bayfieldlabels.com/ Download the free program. Design your labels and order them. I pay about $.60 per label. They are awesome. They print them for me and ship them to me. I have used them for about a year now and would not use anyone else. Thank you all for the compliments.

Can i re use used wine corks?

Also think about where the cork might have been. You are picking up a cork that has been who knows where and putting it in YOUR wine you worked hard to produce. Uh no! You are risking infection, etc. to your wine. I buy 100 premium corks for $24.00.

Hummer those bottles look awesome!! I learned one thing today....frozen and then thawed grapes did not work too well in the crusher/destemmer. I think it will work much better this fall with fresh harvest.

    Screw caps

1 year or less and they will be fine as long as stored around 55 degrees or so. If you want to really age wine you need to cork. I started out using the screw caps and stored them in the closet. Over the summer the house just got too hot and they carmelized and I had to dump about 3 gallons.
