    Unless you are dry hopping.

2 most important things you learned/wish you knew

1: Sunlight skunks beer. I started brewing in the early 90s and used to ferment on a kitchen counter that was exposed to daylight in a glass carboy. 2: Temp control. See #1, at the time I lived in a house w/o air conditioning and might ferment in temps that reached high 80s in the early...

    Oxy what?

In the past I would buy 3 6 lb tubs at a time.

    Oxy what?

Thanks. I don't have one of those nearby, but maybe I can make an excuse to get some rat burgers and stop into the store about 15 mi away.

    Oxy what?

I'm nearly out of home made PBW. I got the last three tubs of Sun Oxygen Cleaner at Wally World a year or two ago and it's almost gone. The local Big Lots has nothing cheaper than what I can get at a supermarket. I hate the idea of going back to paying nearly $3/lb for Oxyclean Versatile Free...

    Buying used perlicks question

If you don't over or under tighten the bonnets you should be fine. Don't torque then down with a wrench, the o rings will deform and the bonnet will leak.

Upgrading from 10 gal to 20 gal batches. Choosing kettles.

I have a three tap kegerator. I have a buddy who lives up the road with a similar 3 tap setup. He doesn't have a place to brew all grain so he brews with me (split batches) or he brews, I brew. We each have a fermenting freezer with a controller. How he plans to get his buckets to his house...

Upgrading from 10 gal to 20 gal batches. Choosing kettles.

That's what I'm looking for. Thanks. Looks like they do custom builds. I'll give them a call next week.

Upgrading from 10 gal to 20 gal batches. Choosing kettles.

I’m planning to upgrade from 10 gal to 20 gal batches. I’m going to buy three matching kettles (HLT, MLT, Boil). I want to be able to mash up to 60 lbs of grain and boil 24 gallons. I need to make sure the MLT and boil kettle are large enough. So the question is, are a 26 gal pots enough...
