    Mango Pale Ale

For what it's worth, I made a peach IPA last year, and ended up using 8 pounds of puree'd peaches in the secondary for about 2 weeks to get the proper amount of peach flavour I was looking for. I'm curious how your one pound of mangos tasted.

    pH Conversion with microprocessor??

Way back when, I used to work for a company that manufactured electronics for quick prototyping. 25 bucks gets you a Ph sensor http://www.phidgets.com/products.php?product_id=3550 30 bucks gets you an adapter board that can read the signal, and convert it to a 0-5v analog voltage...

    How much faster?

Sadly, even 5 gallon batches are approaching this level around my house. I really like your quote though.

    Crack in my carboy

I had one crack like that. I recommend picking a few more up on kijiji or somewhere for cheap, and toss that one.

    Made a bad beer recently?

I accidentally used a significant amount of Vienna in a recipe rather than Victory malt. The beer ended up tasting almost like peanuts. Surprisingly after a few months it tasted really good.

    All grain necessities

I have a 4 quart hard plastic measuring vessel that I picked up at a commercial food service supply place for like 12 bucks. It's marked in 1qt increments. Makes measuring sparge water as well as measuring collected wort really easy.

So where are all of these cheap spa panels in Canada?

I just looked, and 50a panels are $55 down in Phoenix. My friend is buying one this week to bring up to me. Hopefully I can get my e-keggle put together and get some brewing going on in the winter!

So where are all of these cheap spa panels in Canada?

Now that you mention it, I have a friend coming up next month. I should get him to bring one up.

So where are all of these cheap spa panels in Canada?

I hear everyone talking about walking down to Home Depot, and picking spa panels up for like 60 bucks down in the states. Well, up here in Canada, all of the big box stores sell them for several hundred. $250 is a pretty average price for a 50A panel. Is there some secret source of reasonably...

    240V element at 120V.

Maybe he wants to be able to utilize the higher output in the future when he has 240v available, and doesn't want to buy two different elements? Or maybe he's being ambitious and wiring it up to 240v/120v so he has two settings......

Show us your element housings/pots. How did you do it?

When I used to DJ, we used Neutrik Speakon connectors almost exclusively for sound, but did have a lighting rig or two that used them for power. It wasn't very common though, and it was always a custom rig someone wired up with connectors laying around the shop. Lighting was almost always with a...

Does it make sense for my efficiency to increase when going to 10 gallon batches?

So, I've done probably 6 or so 5 gallon AG batches, and I'm almost right on 67% efficiency every time. It's not the best, but I'm happy with the consistency over the efficiency. last weekend I stepped my normal brew day up, and did a 10 gallon batch of a new IPA recipe I was trying. The only...

The beer that got you into beer

I used to drink lots of the usual Canadian beer: Moson Canadian, Rickards Red, Sleeman, Kokanee, etc. Then, one day a buddy and myself went down to a local bar to watch the hockey game. They had someting new on tap. Something that I've never heard of before. Rickards White (Blue Moon for you...

Cutting the top off your keg. This is the easiest way!

I don't know about easiest..... My plasma cutter took all of about 15 seconds to cut the top off, and left a nice straight edge, as the rim of the keg makes a great guide for the cutter. :)
