    Worst style of beer

I love this thread, and find it very interesting to see what other people do not like. Also very interesting with how opposed some people are are to specific styles. Personally I think I may give smoked beers another chance soon, it being my least favorite style. Maybe even smoking some...

    Worst style of beer

Mosher's Radical Brewing made reference to Cock Ale that used a whole raw chicken...I have never had anything like that but I have to imagine it is not very good

    Denver CO trip

Cheeky Monk is my go to spot between GABF sessions for good food and beers, and they seem to get a lot of brewing "celebrities" there at certain times.

    What are you drinking now?

Boston lager... friend left it over after having a crowd over for beers and dinner. Really not to bad of an easy drinking beer while cooking. On deck is an Anderson valley winter solstice, which is in my top 3 favorite winter beers this year.

    worst beer you ever made

I am still a fan of the idea that there are no bad beers, only beers that are less desirable to drink. Having said that, my one attempt at a smoked porter was a drain pour. We dubbed the beer KC Masterbeer because of the BBQ flavor and I couldn't find one person who enjoyed it. One person...

    Worst style of beer

Just something about smoked malt that leaves a bad tang in my mouth. I have never had on that made me want to have another. I am not saying I would never try one again, I just wouldn't buy or brew one again.

    Worst style of beer

I don't believe this has ever been a problem, but anytime I have ever had a Berliner Weiss it was a small sample at a beerfest.

    Worst style of beer

I don't really get it from other things that are acidic, but it is definitely like my sinus just swell shut after drinking really sour beers. I have been fine with some framboise and other fruity lambics, but straight lambic and blended lambics seem to set me off.

    Worst style of beer

I have to ask, does anyone else get any allergic reaction to sour beers? I have enjoyed several versions of sour beers, but I almost always get plugged up sinuses similar to when I am around cats. It usually passes quick, and I am only really allergic to cats (I could roll in poison ivy and...

    Worst style of beer

I have tried the Alaskan smoked porter and a few others and never really enjoyed any. I just don't like the flavor the smoked malt leaves in my mouth. I find this ironic since I really love smoked meats.

    Worst style of beer

The one style of beer that I have never enjoyed has always been rauchbeer. I have brewed once with smoked malt and I hated it, 1 of my 2 drain pours. I don't like any smoked malt, even in small amounts, in any of my beers. Not sure why, but smoked malt just really turns me off. Maybe there...

    Your worst brew day ?

Was using a cooler conversion mash tun with a SS braided screen at the bottom and I accidentally knocked the screen off of the hose that went through the spigot (stirring the mash). This caused the valve to clog and I really had no easy way to get my wort out of the mash tun. I ended up...

    AHS vs MWS vs NB

NB has been my standard, and their 115st hopbursted IPA is great.

Red Beer (as in beer + tomato juice)

My grandma's go to drink is clamato juice and coors light. Personally the clamato juice always scared me off, but I have always enjoyed tomato juice or v8 with yellow fizzy. This was my favorite drink for years at an OTB bar that I frequented in my undergrad years. It was definitely a dump...

    Overshot my temp

Just got BrixCalc, figured out my FG was not as high as I thought...gracias

    Overshot my temp

Update (if anyone cares), the beer tastes fine, but the FG was really high, like 1.040 high. This makes me feel like I need to calibrate my refractometer, since the beer doesn't taste super sweet. It is still a little early to be finished, I drew the sample when racking onto whiskey soaked oak...
