    Son of Fermantion Chiller

Yeah definitely...but what about frozen-gel-packs man ...do you think those would work instead of ice?

    Son of Fermantion Chiller

P.S. Pardon my spelling in the title...it should be fermentation :tank:

    Son of Fermantion Chiller

Ok yeah, that was the one I was planning on making. Sounds good and looks friggin' sweet. I was wondering, could you use ice-paks instead of actual ice. Like the commercial onces with frozen gel? Because if I bought 4 of those, I could place two in and two in the freezer amd easily switch them...

    Son of Fermantion Chiller

Has anyone done one of these things? I find this design inconvenient because you have to replace the ice every 2 days. I mean, that sounds like a lot of ice...is it actually as inconvenient as it sounds? I have an old fridge thats being partially used but I could fix a way to fit my fermentor in...

    Brewing Name...opinions

Eh, I've decided the hell with names. I'm just going to emphasize the style, put a cool pic on a label and say its brewed by me. If I ever decide to open a brewpub I can decide then. :mug:

    Brewing Name...opinions

Well, Somerville is my last name, Ninth Circle--like the Ninth Circle of Hell, and my cats name is Zed (yeah from Pulpfiction :rockin: ) and I tend to call him Zedley so I thought it would be a cool name that could go either way. Somerville sounds kinda oldfashion, Ninth Circle is kind of...

    Volume

Should I assume that most people on this forum (especially the masters) boil full volume? I ask for alot of advice on hops and perhaps I should be assuming that they are giving me advice based off of a full volume boil (5-6 gals). Perhaps I should look into a larger brewpot

    Volume

Sorry if this question has been asked again but I tried searching for it and didn't really find much. So I've been looking at recipator and promash and they both ask for the boil volume and after boil volume. In my brewpot, I really only boil about 3 gals of wort. Maybe less. So I end up pouring...

    Tubing

Those are good ideas. Its not really about the price. My HBS is alittle ways away and I don't really have time to go there with work and all. I've been ordering my supplies off of morebeer.com and I totally forgot to add the tubing. I'm going to try that hot water thing. The worse that could...

    Hey guys, I'm back--Recipe Help

Thanks man. So I'm assuming that the honey malt must give off a lot of sugar, thus the decrease. I'll definitely make the changes that youve said here but just to increase my knowledge, why the changes in crystal and cara-pils? Thanks!

    Tubing

My tube that connects to the bottling bucket is exactly the same width as the spigot. In the past I've tried to stretch it over the spigot but it has never worked. For my past two brews I've been forced to tape it. This worked but there were always a couple of drips (leakage). Anyone ever...

    Hey guys, I'm back--Recipe Help

Ok ok, I got the evaluation version of ProMash (I'm sure I'll buy it soon) so this is what I'm down to. For some reason I always thought that APAs had a lot of hops but then again I consider myself a semi-beginner (2 batches under my belt). I guess APAs have an avg of 3 ozs of hops and an oz to...

    Hey guys, I'm back--Recipe Help

Actually, its not a kit. Even when I first started I never bought a kit. I thought they were kind of cheap. Plus, my HBS didn't really sell them. I told him I wanted a german beer and he started stacking the grain and hops up. I had to quickly learn what the hell I was dealing with haha. So...

    Hey guys, I'm back--Recipe Help
