    FastFerment conical fermenter??????

After each batch when I rinse and clean the FF, for the last rinse I'll fill the FF with clean water. When I drain the rinse water, I make sure to open and close the ball valve several times as liquid and small sediment can get past the nylon bushings and into the interior of the ball valve...

STC-1000 Wiring For Danby Mini Fridge

Yes. That white wire is your common or neutral. Splice off that white wire and connect to terminal #2 on the STC per the diagram.

    Keg Force Carbing Methods Illustrated

The down side of burst carbing is; Not enough time for beer to condition/blend/stablize. Not enough time for CO2 to completely dissolve into solution. Give it some time.

    Least favorite thing about Homebrewing?

Thanks! They're fake slate (ceramic). The look without the flaking and porousness of natural slate/stone. I do spill one every once in a while... ;) That's some gorgeous old paneling. They don't make it like that anymore...

STC-1000 Wiring For Danby Mini Fridge

Not sure why you want to by-pass the thermostat and build in the STC? Making a separate STC project box and just plugging the frig into the box is not only the simplest method but also make the STC portable/reusable on other set-ups. AND allow you to convert the frig back to a frig. Which is why...

    Barnwood Keezer

And once you get all your rigid foam insulation installed, I found this stuff is great for sealing things up and adding a few more Rs.

    Show us your Kegerator

Very cool tap handles. It's exciting stuff to finish the build and pull the first pint... You might want to consider getting some rare earth magnets and making a magnetic drip tray. It doesn't take very many drops of beer on concrete to start mold growing.

    A Brewing Water Chemistry Primer

Brewing a pecan porter. 15 lbs grain bill with 5 gal RO strike water. Forgot to treat my RO strike water with calcium chloride prior to dough in. Remembered right as i got the grain stirred in to the MT so I treated the mash with 1 tsp and re-stirred for several minutes (needed to drop the mash...

    American IPA Fresh Squeezed IPA

Maybe I phrased the question wrong?? I'm not knocking this recipe. Nor was I trying to say it's not an exact clone as that doesn't matter to me. Was just looking for was some comments on the two different hop combos.

    American IPA Fresh Squeezed IPA

I found another Fresh Squeezed clone recipe on AHA but instead of using Chinook/Simcoe/Amarillo hop combo used in this recipe, the AHA recipe uses a Mosaic/Citra combo. For those that have tried the real thing &/or brewed this clone, what are your thoughts on the Chinook/Simcoe/Amarillo combo...

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

No doubt. Plenty of red in this beer! If anything, it has a tendency to go a little dark so it can be hard to see some of that beautiful red. I tried to lighten up my last batch a bit with some minute adjustments - 2-row + .6%, Melanoiden + .2%, Caraaroma - .5%. The goal was to make the...

    A Brewing Water Chemistry Primer

Dumb questions... I see everyone use 5 gal as a baseline for water additions, but we all know that we use 8-9 gal for a 5 gal batch of beer. Do you use the final finished beer volume to calculate/adjust water additions OR do you use the total water volume needed to calculate water...
