What I meant was that Sierra's hoppy beers aren't very good, so why would you want to copy what they do?

I think most of us are brewing better beers than Sierra!

Stainless oxidation or rust in Hop Stainers

I highly doubt that the screen is plated copper. That would be really weird, but it would be simple enough to test with a file. Plus, you can see spot welds. If you look at the pics closely, you'll see that the orangish brown stuff is in the open area of the mesh.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I recently did an all Strata NEIPA and it was as good as any of my best beers. That hop is awesome.

My first thought was also that the name is lame and my second thought was that the total oil is low, too.

Hobby shift ...need advice. How to?

Extremely serious question here... Why the hell do you want to build a Pontiac engine for this truck? Is that still part of the plan??? I say you keep the bike if you really like it and throw a turbo LS in the truck for basically no money. I am so tired of LS swaps, but you will save so much...

Stainless oxidation or rust in Hop Stainers

Stainless steel can totally rust if it's contaminated with iron during manufacturing or sometime after and not passivated. If it looks like rust, it probably is.

You're a little late to the party :)

Who did the testing is irrelevant. Once it's modified, it would have to be re-tested. We are on the same page.

Since it's a pressure rated vessel, the shape and configuration of the lid is important. It could just be that they have not pressure tested the lid with that size ferrule on it.

It won't be doing anything to my beer, because I'll be pulling vacuum and pressurizing with CO2 repeatedly with the hops in the chamber. That's one of the main points of the chamber. Any O2 in the pellets will be long gone.

Could be, but whether it's enough to take care of the O2 is anyone's guess. And what happens before the yeast take care of the O2? It does not happen immediately, so the O2 just hangs around in the beer, oxidizing it, before the yeast can get to it all.

I said that people here (as in on this forum) weren't doing it 4 years ago. I have started doing that, actually. I'm only two batches in, so I need more time to form an opinion about it. This was one of the bigger reasons for creating a dry hop chamber, though. Since the yeast is crashed...

I used to do it like that (create positive pressure in headspace while adding dry hops), but I always felt it can be done better. You will see more homebrewers using dry hop chambers like the ones in this thread as time goes on. I remember about four years ago, basically nobody here was dry...

It's strange that they're marketing it as a dry hop doser since all it is is a tri-clamp spool with a 1/4" npt port on it. You'll need quite a few more part to make it work! You can easily make something much better with off the shelf parts.
