New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I have done so many batches with flaked oats and 1318 and the haze has never crashed out in a week. In some cases, the haze lasted months.

    SS Brewtech's Mill

Exactly. It's a beautiful, compact piece. If I were considering the mill from morebeer linked to above (the clunky, pieced together looking thing with the ridiculously oversized power button and motor hanging off the table that looks like it was assembled in some homebrewer's garage), I would...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Please, man. I can't look at pics like that at work.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

You kind of just have to experiment for yourself and see what you like. 90% of what I read ends up being BS in my opinion. Even if someone says do this or that, you may not like outcome as much as him.

Spike Brewing CF5 for 2.5g Batches?

You would have to make it yourself or have someone make it. There seems to be at least a few companies who custom make parts these days.

Bru’n water for Extract no boil

I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out!

Spike Brewing CF5 for 2.5g Batches?

You could also use the stock probe location and make a longer probe with a bend in it so it gets down deeper into the fermenter.

    Good deal on cascade hops

Care to elaborate on the way Yakima treats its hops?

    Inkbird ITC-308 Sucks

Read through this thread. Same controller, similar problem, and the problem was a bad sensor. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/threads/when-your-inkbird-controller-decides-to-have-a-6%C2%B0-offset-and-youre-cold-crashing-ugh.667251/#post-8620194

    Inkbird ITC-308 Sucks

I would try to figure out what sensor is in the probe and see if a new one will fix it. It's really sad that Inkbird won't help you diagnose it. It's dumb to buy a new one, even at 20% off, if a couple cent part is to blame. I hate the throw-away society of today.

    Spunding question

#2 is a regulator (aka spunding valve). It's not just a gauge.

    Excessively thick beer won't carbonate

    What temperature is the beer?

    Make IPA Clear Again

It's pretty clear (haha) that the people in this thread hating on NEIPA don't understand a thing about them. This thread is one of the dumbest on this site.

Vent Hood Build: Questions and Feedback

When I move brewing inside, I'm building one of these: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/threads/boil-kettle-condenser-no-overhead-ventilation-needed.636955/

Do I need some type of o-ring for this flare swivel nut?

Yeah, you're good. Metal on metal needs a nylon washer. Metal on plastic is good.

Do I need some type of o-ring for this flare swivel nut?

Nope. As long as the tapered seat on the quick disconnect is plastic, it will seal.

    Brewing with tortilla chips

Yes. This beer is brewed with tortilla shells. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/28383/120435/

    Who’s brewing today?

I'm also wondering about 2019 Nelson. Tired Hands cranked out a few Nelson beers recently, too.

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

I would put the pump close to the BK. When the BK is empty, disconnect the hose at the pump and raise it higher than the fermenter. The wort in the hose will gravity drain into the fermenter.

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

I think I have heard of people using brewpi with glycol systems even though it wasn't designed for them, but you would have to look around to make sure. And yeah, the brewpi setup made my head explode several times, but somehow I got through it. I think there might be turn-key systems...
