    well i did the kiwi wit from sams extreme brewing and i always put the priming suger on the bottom of the bottling bucket and rack on top. so i did the regular 5oz of primer (dextrose) how ever i didnt intisapate all the kiwi junk at the bottom and only got 4 gallons out of it. so i have 5oz...

    well after 2 weeks in bottle the beer has slight carb kinda a maple smell and a slight butterscotch aftertaste . those things don't concern me that much because i read about green beer and the off taste, what does concern me is the malt flavor has dissipated a bit from week 1 when i tried it...

    thats recipe looks good but im not set of for all grain on extract brewing .... it sounds really good. could i use 6.6 lbs of a pale extract instead?

    Grapefruit pale ale is what im looking to do but most of all the recipes are for an ipa... fiance not a big fan so i want to do a pale ale. if i can get a good grapefruit taste without zest am i loking for sicome or centennial hops? ie only done on kit and i just want to kinda use a recipe now.

    should i be fearful of exploding bottles i went on brewers best and they said og to be 1.056-52 and final to be 1.016-12....but thats with there lager yeast i used an ale

    yeah its a lil cooler in my house than the optimum fermentation temp so i thought i would keep in in fermentator for 3 weeks. so i checked it throughout and it slowly decreased and the yeast foam all went to the bottom so i thought it was pretty much done

    i brewed a brewers best octoberfest with wyeast 1007 german ale yeast at about 60 62 temp for 3 weeks and it slowey when down to 1.017 on saturday and 1.016 on sundat morning wheni was goona bottle ....so i thought thats close enough, did i do a newbie mistake or will it be fine the og was 1.053

    bitterness

    well after 2 weeks its super close to fg 1.018 and when i checked it last at 1.022 it tasted realy good, now it has a bitter aftertaste. its an octoberfest ale using a wyeast german ale yeast. will this go away i really wanted another week in fermenter 3 weeks total

    thanks for the reply guys.... i was thinking maybe rubber banding a fine filter on my siphon when i do bottle it just as a last precaution... the longer time goes by the more confident i feel about it cuz i did clean everything 2 more after it happened
