New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I know, Galaxy hates me. I want to like it but I've had too many diesel bombs I'm a bit gunshy.

What are people's thoughts on post-fermentation dry hopping under pressure? Any reason to do it?

American Pale Ale Coldwater 420 - Special Pale Ale

Ok so here is my clone attempt and I'm a ways off. Mine is much darker so I'm going to use all light Munich instead of mixing light and dark. The commercial version is much hoppier and brighter. I used Wlp007 because it's what I had but I'll switch to Chico for the next brew. Sweetwater 420...

American IPA Base Pale Ale Recipe for Single hop Beers

6oz. total for 5 gallons. 2 oz. in the whirlpool at 170F 4 oz. dry hop. Tons of bitterness, these hops are no joke. 19.5AA the lot I have.

American IPA Base Pale Ale Recipe for Single hop Beers

I did a single hop Vic Secret recently. This recipe, but moved everything to the whirpool and dry hop. First Time using Vic Secret and it was incredible! Totally holds up on it's own.

American Pale Ale Coldwater 420 - Special Pale Ale

Thanks! I live in Canada but travel to Florida often (when not in pandemic). 420 is one of my favorites and is incredible on draft. I won't have any to compare, but I've had enough of it that I should be able to remember. I brew pretty well the exact same grainbill as you posted for my...

American Pale Ale Coldwater 420 - Special Pale Ale

I have tried a few times to clone this, and my attempts never have that amazing floral citrus hop character the the commercial version has. I always assume it's the hops. Can I ask where you are sourcing your Cascade/Centennial?

That dirty word...cleaning!!! How do you go about it?

I'm a next day cleaner too. Grainfather makes it easy, after my brew is done, I just empty the grain, give the grainfather a quick spray and leave it until I'm ready to clean, usually the next day.

Whirlpool + post fermentation dry hop or double dry hop?

Dgallos suggestion is correct. That thread is easily the best current discussion of hopping techniques on the internet right now, it's a lot to digest but some great info. Because of that thread, I've stopped dry hopping mid fermentation and now cold crash at the end of fermentation and then...

American IPA Base Pale Ale Recipe for Single hop Beers

I do, the issue would be chilling as I use counterflow. I'll probably split pre-boil and do two separate brews.

American IPA Base Pale Ale Recipe for Single hop Beers

Yeah I think the best way is to mash and sparge and before boiling pump out half the volume into a bucket. Brew twice.

American IPA Base Pale Ale Recipe for Single hop Beers

I would really like to find a way to make a split batch of this in my Grainfather. Like 5 gallon batch split evenly but with totally different hops. I'm reluctant to brew 5 gallons of Ekuanot beer in case it's terrible.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

My version with Azacca/Eureka/Mosaic. This is fantastic, my first time using Eureka and it lends a nice bit of pine in the background. The orange from the Azacca is jumping out of the glass, smells like fresh squeezed orange juice.

    What's your favorite Homebrewing magazine?

Although not strictly homebrew, Craft Beer and Brewing is excellent. The podcast as well is stellar.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I was surprised too as it's London Ale III which always works fast for me. It took off quickly too, was fresh yeast. Airlock is still bubbling away 6 days in with a health Krausen.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I brewed OP's recipe, but with Azacca/Eureka/Mosaic. First time using Imperial Juice and I'm a bit surprised at how slow it is. Started up super quick, but it's 6 days in and not quite down to terminal. I've used London Ale III a ton, so I'm just a bit surprised. Smelled insane though, my...
