    Firearms

I only have a small collection, mostly .22s and shotguns but I've got a Browning A5 I enjoy. I carry a S&W Sigma 9 because I don't need to worry about holster marks or scratch and dents.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I'm doing a clone of something called Pranqster. I've never tried the real thing but I've made it before and it's a favorite of everyone who's tried it so I'm doing a 10 gallon batch. I’m making a new manifold for the MLT tonight. I’m only getting 58% efficiency right now. I made...

    700% tax? WTF!!

You underestimate our fearless leaders. Their knowledge of what’s best for us is so great that small things like facts will not deter them. And small people like you who point out those small facts are beneath their notice. New Hampshire on the other hand has noticed that the great...

    Overestimated evaporation

Two lessons learned from reboiling. 1 – No noticeable issues, another hour didn’t hurt anything and my OG is up close to what I was looking for. 2 – Lemon flavor from lemon skin will not boil off so there isn’t any need to add more during the second boil. I learned...

    Overestimated evaporation

Thanks for the advice all. I'll let you know how it turns out.

    Overestimated evaporation

I think it’s the super low humidity, the cold and I’m kind of up in the hills. I have a standard burner you'd get with a turkey fryer and a keggel nothing big. I was reading here about 1.2 and 1.5 gal per hour while I was getting 3 and I figured I was doing something wrong but I couldn’t...

    Overestimated evaporation

I did some searching and I think I know the answer but I wanted to be sure. I made my first batch since the winter this weekend and the first full boil batch in the summer I’ve ever done. I used beersmith to figure out water volume. My mistake was I setup beersmith during the winter when I...

Got mine last week. I gave the glasses to the kids and kept the keychain bottle opener. Can't beat free.

YES ,There is a place called Wyoming

Hey from Mass. I'm not from there but I get out your way every now and then. Mostly to kill one or two of the thousands of little goats you guys have but also to drink copious amounts of beer and act like a fool. I enjoy those little trips. :D

It taste like I made Beer :)

Congrats! You should start your 2nd batch this weekend. The first one will be gone before you know it and you can't go back to store beer.

    My heart stopped..

Generators are a must have if you have well water. Even a small(ish) one can keep your toilet flushing when the powers out, never mind wasted beer.

    E-Cigarette anyone?

My son was thinking of getting in on this racket. I'm not sure how far he is with it but he was going to try to sell these to local stores here in MA. I quit 14 years ago but this might bring me back.

Didn't know that about the nitrogen. Good advice, thanks!

    Old Oil Bottles

These not being that common are the reason I'm assuming they were used for kerosene. The only place I’ve ever seen them used was for oil burners with a spring loaded screw-on top. Although the one’s I’ve seen before were plainly labeled with the company logo in raised lettering...
