First 3 vessel all grain. Follow along with me today!

I have brewed extract since last December, moved to propane biab in the summer, and now I am doing my first 3 vessel gravity set up. I will be making the cream ale recipe from the classic styles book. I will be posting pictures and times of the goings on throughout the day. I will also be...

Did you do a "test run" ?

I am about to do a test run today on my new rig. I bought a Center of Gravity brew stand and a Edelmetall Bru Kettle. Should be fun.

Big Mouth Bubbler-Plastic - Any Good?

Yup. Replaced most of my buckets with these. I have 4 bmb all with carrying straps. Still use my old buckets for holding milled grain, or sanitized items. I love them. Treat them well, the plastic is thinner than a bucket, but still tuff. Love the volume markings as well.

Help !! Female quick disconnect not tight !!

I am putting together a re-circ/ chill ststem with a chugger pump, and the female QD is loose on the male ends when attached. I know it is the female end, because 7 other female QD are tight. is there any way to fix this, or will I need to just take them back and exchange them ?

Grain bill too large for kettle.

Uhm.....Thx I think. Your first sentence I did not find helpful at all. Anyway. I re - measured my kettle, and found the width to be 16 instead of 15 inches. This helps a little, but the reason I am asking about this particular grain bill is that yesterday I did a 10 gallon batch of ale using...

Grain bill too large for kettle.

Uh oh ! Tomorrow I am brewing a vanilla porter in a 15 gallon megapot 1.2 I am making a ten gallon batch, and have already crushed grain. 21.5 pounds. Priceless biab calculator says it will over flow the pot. I went and bought a circular grill grate to put over the kettle to set the bad...

    Rims Rocket Opinions

I am also considering going the 120v route as well. I am a biab brewer using a 15 gal megapot 1.2, and I will be putting a hole in the lid for recirculation via a rims rocket and chugged pump controlled by a stc1000 or a pid controller. I will be interested in knowing the outcome if you do...

    Diving into BIAB

I have a stir plate, and even bought some light dme with the thought of making a starter, but it was kinda last minute decision to brew today due to possible rain. so instead, I used two vials as it wasn't due to rain till this afternoon. Just finished the batch, ended up with 7.5gal into the...
