    Check ferm chamber for leaks?

These would be a little safer. http://m.grainger.com/mobile/details/?R=3NPE4 No fire risk. Also more costly.

Electrical Diagram feedback for a 50A HERMS Build

Question- It looks like you have a main power relay. Why wouldn't you use your e-stop to cut power to the coil of that relay, rather than trying to trip the GFI by leaking current onto the ground?

car and trailer or truck for home owner

One more issue to consider -- do you have space to store the trailer? In my neighborhood we're not allowed to leave trailers outside overnight. That means I pay a couple hundred bucks a month for storage of my RV trailer. This would be a significant enough barrier that would make me forget...

Fermentation/Lagering Chamber build by a not so handy man.

I will be curious to see how well you can hold a lagering temp. I haven't tried that yet with my chamber.

    Boom goes the dynamite

^^^^ What he said. This batch has a 99% chance of being just fine. You can probably clean up the floor, scoop some of the krausen out with a sanitized spoon and reattach the lid. It probably won't blow again if you can clean out the airlock. It's taste just fine if you control the temps.

    Oxygen cleaner?

There are tons of people here who use that with great success.

Temperature Dropped - Is Beer Ruined?

So, did you take a temp near the end of the mash? In my experience the cooler will hold within a couple degrees for an hour. I usually leave my lid cracked slightly for the cable on my electronic thermometer probe. I bet you are fine. Beer mashes just fine at 154, and 152.

    Bypassing electric blanket safety switch

Could you turn it on, then wrap it around your vessel? Use a ratchet strap to hold it in place and depress the switch at the same time??? I'm not sure where the switch is located so I'm not sure if that would work.

    Hoppo's E-Brewery Build

You are going to love that pre-rinse nozzle on your sink. I just added one to my sink and it might be my favorite part of my setup. I find myself using it for other tasks, like this week my kid needed to take an empty peanut butter jar to school. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get the...

Using shop-vac to clean spent grain from mash tun

Lol! I just use my Rigid shop vac and it works great. Nothing special. I bet it takes less than 90 seconds. I'll check the HP rating tonight.

    Bourbon throwing off FG?

The little bit of Makers that you used to soak the chips isn't going to drive up your gravity that high. Even if it did, it should have fermented out in the 10 days. You have a stuck fermentation, as br1dge suggested. I'd carefully unbottle them (as painful as that sounds) and pitch some new...

Using shop-vac to clean spent grain from mash tun

Thanks. I was wondering how much it would spray grain and figured it was easier to ask here then to experiment.:mug:

Using shop-vac to clean spent grain from mash tun

Hi sud, I understand your sentiment. At first I thought the same thing. I had heard of others using the vac (and even some folks buying a dedicated vac for this propose) so I tried it. It was easier for me. I have a 20 gallon kettle in my electric brewery that is in the very back corner off my...
