Well, for your first brew you don't want to start with an all grain recipe. I would recommend doing extract batches at the beginning of your brewing career so that you can gain a better understanding of the process and build some solid skills that will be the foundation of your future efforts...

David is right. Fans will move air much better on the positive pressure side (discharge) than they will under negative pressure (suction).

Leaking kegs. I just refilled my CO2, and put it in the garage to carbonate one new batch. A week later my task is empty and my beer is flat. This seems to happen when I'm least expecting it.
