    Efficiently cleaning a unitank

cip doesn really clean the ports especially if fluid isnt being pumped through those particular ports during the cip process.. you still need to wipe things down, especially when using such a weak pump with a sprayball. I have a riptide and its not even powerful enough to make any of my...

    Electric Panel Design

True but if your limited with a herms the advantage to a pid in the BK is you can heat your strike water to a certain temp as Bobby mentioned to save a lot of time..

    Electric Panel Design

yes you want either mypin TD4-snr or td4-srr model pids... they have the manual pwm mode. I used many myself. the ta4 model is the same in every other respect and fine for HLT and rims control. I also vote for contactor AND SSRs for controling the power to the elements.... the contactors will...

    Replacement pump wiring doesn't match

is the new pump a 120v pump and not 220v? I see mention of 500v ac on the chinese labeled one? does china even have 110v anywhere? most countries run on 220v 50hz so many pumps are designed for this outside of whats made specifically for NA. I see what looks like a starting capacitor on the...

Convert an older 10g Blichmann to electric?

if its setup right you can leave it unattended without worry though... just like an electric hot water tank... It just needs to be wired right with the right element density and control.

    Speidel Jacketed Conical

most jacketed conicals are insulated over the jacket to help with sweating. the 3.5bbl dual jacket conicals I just bought for 2,850 each (for brewpub) are fully insulated to help prevent the seating and energy waste.... When you insulate the speidel to improve functionality dramatically your not...

What’s the best grain mill for the price?

heres proof... they just change the advertised specs to mislead folks into believing they are different. Some sites are using the base length and some the actual roller length. https://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/Malt_Muncher_Three_Roller_Malt_Mill_p/maltmunch-3-roller-mill.htm and here the malt...

What’s the best grain mill for the price?

Nice comparison site! the maltmuncher 3 and kegco 3 are the same mill. even the maltmuncher 2 vs the cereal killer... some people have reported thier malt muncher 2 as having the ball bearings and some stated bushings... My guess is they changed over at some point and the maltmuncher 2 now are...

    Brewing Shoes

I brewed in socks when I brewed indoors in a spare bedroom.... But I kept the liquid in the kettles for multiple reasons... to me it was no different than cooking in a kitchen.. if one can be careful and adjust thier process to do that without large spills and mess than why not brewing...

What’s the best grain mill for the price?

My kegco 3 roller is still going strong at the brewpub. its only getting used 2-3 times a month to brew 3bbls of beer each time right now due to covid but its literally milled thousands of lbs of grain now and still looks visibly and functionally unaffected so... my CK hasnt been used in over a...

    PID for boil

if your temp readout rises above 212 theres something wrong with the temp probe or setup. 212 should be like a hard wall and it should never go above that. in fact usually its boiling a couple degrees berore the readout reaches that point depending on your elevation.

    PID for boil

sorry the TA4 does NOT have manual boil mode. disregard my post about using it. The TD4 does have manual boil intensity control. your either going to be full on at 100% power or off... meaning you will need to boil at 100% power constant or have the boil constantly starting and stopping every...
