Irish moss worthwhile in Irish Red?

Personally I like my Irish reds to be "bright" so I'd go for it. What's one teaspoon (or less?) of Irish moss if you have it on hand? My process also includes cold crashing and gelatin fining almost regardless of style. In an Irish red I'd go for it.

    DIY CO2 Tank Stand?

Hi Ya'll, I have a 15kg Co2 tank. It stands about 36 inches tall (or so). With a dual regulator on top, it's quite top heavy and prone to tip over...It's already happened a few times and not my pressure gauges need replacing. I will definitely do this but I want to solve the tippy tank issue...

    i dont brew to style

For me, I always feel like I'm doing my best imatation or an homage to a style. That is I never get it perfectly right but I'm almost happy with the results. Sometimes my beer is the only time I've ever tasted a style, other times I brew and I feel it falls woefully short of what I thought to...

I've been invited to do a pro/am brew. I'm stoked!

I'm a bit late to this party but congratulations @MaxStout. That must have been a pretty cool experience. Keep us updated when the beer is on tap and how well it is received. Being originally from MN myself it's cool to see stuff like this happening around there. Cheers!

    Regulator question about leaking

I have something similar, do you have quick disconnects at the end of the lines? If so, you'll be fine even if you had a bit of pressure in there.

    I've gone pro!

I have to keep pinching myself! I've just entered the wide world of professional beer... Well kind of... You see like many of you I'm an obsessed homebrewer who works in the corporate world to make ends meet and put food on the table. We work hard so we can brew hard. An opportunity came up...

    Hop spider or not?

I'm an on and off user of my hop spider... I usually use it for heavy hopped beers that have a good amount of kettle additions. In my experience the hop spider reduces the hop bitterness and flavor so I usually compensate with around 10% extra in my measurements. Even in whirlpooling, I run...

First brew day is on the books.

Congrats! It's always nice to get someone new into our obsession... I mean hobby :) If you're talking about a few degrees in Fahrenheit you don't need to sweat it, especially if you've hit your gravity you'll be just fine. Cheers!

    Forgot hops!

I have no advice other than to check out these posts on the meme generator thread. It went in this direction for a while... Needless to say it's a common mistake. Post in thread 'how about a meme generator thread...' how about a meme generator thread...

    Thanksgiving Fighting Words

    1. Never liked pumpkin pie. Peacans pie is definitely the way to go. 2. Doesn't matter how the bird is prepared what matters is if it's fresh or not. Last year I picked out a live bird from a farm and cooked it the next day... I would never go back to store bought or frozen bird again. 3...

    Newcomer question on 2nd batch

I usually don't give up on a beer until months after I have packaged it. If you're a new brewer go ahead and bottle it, gain some experience and practice. This is a great opportunity to learn and become a better brewer. Maybe the beer tastes great! You'll never know until you try it. If it...

how about a meme generator thread...

Things will get better. They can't possibly get worse. The best is yet to come. And there's nothing you can do about it. Your beer will turn out great. Don't let that infection stop you.
