There's CO2 in the beer and this will vent off. Even just a layer off CO2 on the beer is enough to push the O2 away from the surface and protect the beer so it's nothing worry about. Remember CO2 is heavier than O2 and will therefore sink down and cap the beer.

5 gals every weekend like clock work. It seems to flow out at the other end of the pipeline at just the right rate that way.

My wife is as big if not a bigger snob than myself. She would make a good BJCP judge. Not only does she drink my beer, she gives me very honest and constructive criticism. She even helps out around the brewery. It's great. Wouldn't want to brew without her.

Move to North Dakota. It's never too hot to brew. Of course it is too cold for about 3 months in the winter but that's when I do all my meads and wine.

Once you get the pipeline going it'll get better. I push 5 gallons in every weekend. Having 5 gallons coming out the other end every week makes leaving it alone till it's ready a lot easier. ;)

Your aeration sounds good. You should have had some action by now. I would check and see if it fermented. You may have just missed it. Look for the krausen ring in the fermenter.

Did you aerate before you pitched? How much yeast did you pitch? What temp did you pitch at? What temp are you fermenting at? 48 hours is a bit long. Check and see if you might have missed the fermentation. You could repitch if there has been no fermentation.
